On January 16, the main bridge deck grid girders of the Laibin Xixiutan Hongshui River Grand Bridge, constructed by Guangxi Road and Bridge Group, were successfully closed. With this, the installation of the bridge's main steel structure was fully completed, achieving north-south connectivity of the main bridge.

The Laibin Xixiutan Hongshui River Grand Bridge is located in Xingbin District, Laibin City, Guangxi. It has a total length of 514 meters, a main bridge length of 356 meters, and a deck width of 31 meters, with dual two-lane carriageways. The grand bridge requires the installation of 29 grid girder segments, with hoisting officially beginning on December 15, 2023. Among them, the standard segments are 12.2 meters long and weigh 110 tons; the baseline segments are 15.3 meters long and weigh 153 tons. The total steel consumption for the grid girders of the entire bridge reaches 3,456 tons.

During the hoisting process, the grid girder segments were heavy and the embedded suspender ducts interfered with the use of conventional lifting equipment, making construction organization highly challenging within a limited site area. To ensure the smooth closure of the grand bridge's grid girders, Guangxi Road and Bridge Group adhered to technology-enabled construction, conducting technical research on one-time installation and positioning of grid girders and on construction segment division in response to on-site challenges. The construction segments were re-divided and new lifting equipment was designed, successfully resolving the conflict between the embedded suspender ducts and the lifting equipment as well as the difficulty of installing grid girders in the inter-rib segments of the half-through arch bridge. The deep integration of technological innovation and construction production further improved quality and efficiency and enhanced the company's core competitiveness.

Next, the project will continue to muster its energy and unite its efforts to fully advance the concrete deck paving construction, ensure the remaining construction tasks are completed to high standards and with high quality, and strive tirelessly for the early completion and opening of the bridge to traffic.

It is reported that after the bridge is completed and opened to traffic, the travel distance between Qianjiang Town and Liangtang Town in Xingbin District, Laibin City will be shortened from more than one hour to 15 minutes, which is of great significance for promoting the growth of local agriculture, light industry, and other industries and for boosting rural revitalization.
