Recently, a certain city EnvironmentalEngineering Technology Co., Ltd., in joint development with Xitan Equipment, assembled, debugged, and conducted operation training for an integrated soil-groundwater drilling, injection, and remediation equipment at a smelting site in Zhuzhou, and the equipment successfully passed acceptance, receiving unanimous praise from the expert panel and users. The equipment mainly consists of a sampling drilling rig, a grouting system, a slurry preparation system, an automatic control system, and a backend cloud platform monitoring system.

The "Development of Automated Equipment for Synergistic Soil-Groundwater Remediation at Nonferrous Smelting Sites" project is a 2019 national key project led and applied for by Central South University.

The core work of this project is the "Development of Integrated Drilling-Injection Remediation Equipment for Soil and Groundwater at Smelting Sites." This equipment can be used not only for drilling-injection remediation of soil and groundwater at smelting sites, but also for investigation and sampling of various types of contaminated soil and groundwater, in-situ chemical oxidation remediation, and other operations.

Given that existing drilling and injection remediation equipment has poor applicability for synergistic soil-groundwater remediation at smelting sites, this research and development topic involves the research and selection of equipment based on the soil characteristics, hydrogeological conditions, and pollution characteristics of smelting sites, so as to maximally meet the needs of smelting site remediation. At the same time, in response to the problems of low automation levels in existing equipment and the inability to match the project's requirement for precise injection at "designated points, in designated quantities, and at designated depths," integrated drilling-injection remediation equipment for soil and groundwater at smelting sites has been developed, along with a supporting automated control system for precise injection.

As national environmental protection industry policies place increasing emphasis on the field of soil remediation, and given the enormous market potential of soil remediation, it is highly necessary to carry out research on soil remediation technologies and equipment development for typical contaminated sites. As a type of remediation site with strong representativeness and huge market prospects, soil and groundwater remediation at nonferrous smelting sites is of great significance in terms of technical capability and market share in soil and groundwater remediation.
