At the construction site of the Huaihe River Grand Bridge on the Shouying section of the Hezhou Expressway, which is about to be closed, more than 170 people carry out on-site work every day, creating a busy construction scene everywhere. At the main bridge construction site, more than 70 workers are working overtime to carry out steel girder erection and cable construction, racing against time to sprint toward the closure target at the end of January.

A relevant person in charge of the Shouying project office introduced that at present, the installation of the steel-concrete composite girder and stay cables of the main bridge of the Huaihe River Grand Bridge is 83% complete, the steel plate composite girder bridge of the approach bridge is 100% complete, ancillary works are 98% complete, all subgrade earthworks along the entire line have been completed, and progress on the middle and lower surface courses of the pavement has exceeded half. The Shouying section of the Hezhou Expressway is about 94 kilometers long and is planned to be completed and opened to traffic this year, at which time the urban area of Huoqiu County will achieve the goal of rapid access to the expressway.
