On January 8, 2024, at the construction site of the Xingaifang Grand Bridge, a controlling project of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway, drilling rigs stood in clusters as construction workers carried out work on the bridge's substructure.

　　The bridge must cross Xiongzhou Road (a main arterial road in Xiongxian county town), the Xiongxian branch line of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, Provincial Highway S334, Baojing Highway, Mazhuang Canal, the Daqing River, and the under-construction Xiong'an-Beijing Daxing Airport Express Railway, making it a major difficult and controlling project on the line. The Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway is an important component of the Beijing-Kunming corridor of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. The line starts in the east at Xiong'an Station on the Beijing-Xiong'an Intercity Railway, runs west through the Xiong'an New Area and Baoding City in Hebei Province, and reaches Xinzhou City in Shanxi Province, where it connects to Xinzhou West Station on the Datong-Xi'an High-Speed Railway. The main line has a total length of 342 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

　　In the east, the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway connects with the Beijing-Xiong'an Intercity Railway and the under-construction Xiong'an-Shangqiu High-Speed Railway; in the center, it links with the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway and the Tianjin-Baoding High-Speed Railway; and in the west, it joins the Datong-Xi'an High-Speed Railway, giving it a highly important position in the rail network. Once the project is completed, it will further improve the structure of the railway network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, greatly facilitate travel for people along the line, promote economic and social development along the route, and be of great significance for better serving the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy.
