On January 9, reporters learned from Shudao Group that the Fulong Bridge, constructed by Sichuan Road and Bridge East China Company under the group, has officially opened to traffic. It is also the largest "separated double-rotation hinge" vertical-rotation bridge in China.

　　The Fulong Bridge is a landmark project in Linhai City, Zhejiang Province, that boosts the city's development along the river. The main line of the project is about 1.9 kilometers long, with a total investment of about 1.1 billion yuan and a construction period of 3 years.

　　The main bridge is 306 meters long and 43.2 meters wide, with six lanes in both directions. The opening of the bridge will shorten the travel time between residents on both banks from the original 30 minutes to 5 minutes.

　　It is worth mentioning that the Fulong Bridge adopts a unique and novel flying-bird A-shaped cable tower with parallel cable planes in its design. Its two main towers, north and south, lie on an "S-shaped" curve, just like the two wings of a flying bird.

　　Due to its unique bridge design, the cable tower assembly during construction was difficult and carried high safety risks. After repeated research, the construction team adopted a new vertical-rotation method, the "separated double-rotation hinge" process. Simply put, the main tower is first assembled on the ground and then vertically lifted to connect with the tower base. This method not only optimizes the structural force system and effectively reduces construction risks, but also minimizes costs.

　　This scale of construction technology was successfully applied for the first time in China, providing valuable reference for the vertical-rotation construction of cable towers of irregular cable-stayed bridges in typhoon-prone areas.
