On January 7, the Lemin Tunnel and Lumushan Tunnel of the Panxing Railway, constructed by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, were successfully holed through.

As a key route and major difficult section of the project, the Lemin Tunnel has a maximum excavation length of 1,394 meters at the exit main portal, a maximum burial depth of 299 meters, and a relative elevation difference of 10 to 450 meters. Since excavation began in late April 2022, the construction team has worked for 20 months, overcoming numerous difficulties. Under the premise of ensuring quality, quantity, and safety, they ensured smooth holing-through on schedule, effectively advancing the overall construction progress of the project and laying a solid foundation for completing all construction and production tasks.

The Lumushan Tunnel is a low-gas single-tube double-track tunnel with a total length of 696 meters and a maximum burial depth of approximately 147 meters. The tunnel entrance is adjacent to the Haizi River No. 2 Grand Bridge, and the exit is adjacent to the Doupipuo Bridge.

The Panxing Railway starts from Panzhou Station on the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway in the north and ends at Xingyi South Station, with a total length of approximately 98 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It is the last project for Guizhou Province to achieve "high-speed rail access in every city." Once completed and opened to traffic, travel time from Panzhou to Xingyi will be shortened from the original 70 minutes to less than 30 minutes. A 1-to-2-hour high-speed rail transportation circle from Guiyang to the central cities of the province's 8 cities (prefectures) will then be formed.
