On the 4th, the reporter learned from the Yunnan Mengla-Lüchun Expressway Project Department of China Railway No.8 Engineering Group that the Pingzhang No.1 Bridge of Section 9 of the Mengla-Lüchun Expressway, constructed by the project department, has been successfully completed recently, laying the foundation for the early full completion of the Mengla-Lüchun Expressway.

With a total length of 457.5 meters, the Pingzhang No.1 Bridge spans gullies and rivers. Its span arrangement consists of 15×30.5-meter simply supported first and then structurally continuous prestressed concrete T-beam spans, with a total of 75 precast beams for the whole bridge.

To ensure the smooth completion of the precast beam erection task, the project department carefully formulated the construction plan, defined the objectives, and worked out a reverse schedule. During construction, they made meticulous arrangements and scientific organization, successively overcoming difficulties such as long transport distances and numerous interferences from subgrade construction. At the same time, they comprehensively strengthened on-site construction and production management, intensified safety and quality control, and organized construction strictly in accordance with design drawings and construction specifications. Project leaders strictly controlled construction safety throughout the process, and on-site surveyors monitored the elevation of erection in real time to ensure that the transverse and longitudinal slopes of the bridge met design requirements. Through the joint efforts of all construction personnel, the erection task was successfully completed, ensuring the completion of the bridge.

It is reported that the Mengla-Lüchun Expressway is an important part of the expressway network of Yunnan Province and plays an important role in the provincial expressway network by "linking the border areas of the province in the southwest and radiating both inside and outside the national gateway." Once the project is completed, it will greatly improve local transportation infrastructure conditions and promote the efficient and smooth flow of people and goods in the border areas.
