Construction waste piles up at construction sites and there are many temporary housing units made of color steel plates. Without strengthened management, these can easily become "bombs" around us. Recently, the municipal fire brigade conducted fire safety inspections in areas with many construction sites, "diagnosing" construction sites under construction.

　　The day before yesterday, the Wuzhong Fire Brigade established an inspection team that focused on checking whether temporary housing units made of color steel plates for on-site personnel offices and accommodation at construction sites within its jurisdiction met regulatory requirements. It also carefully investigated the provision of fire extinguishing facilities, the operation of temporary water supply systems, the setup of fire truck access routes, and the storage of construction materials.

　　At each location, supervisors strictly checked for hidden dangers and asked about and helped resolve various fire safety issues existing in the construction and supervision processes at the sites. In response to issues such as most construction workers being migrant workers who lack common knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting, supervisors required site managers to strengthen fire patrols at the sites, regularly conduct fire safety education and training for on-site personnel, and ensure that on-site personnel have the corresponding common knowledge of fire safety and the ability to escape and save themselves. For hidden dangers found during the inspection, such as decoration materials occupying fire truck access routes at some units and randomly connected and tangled electrical wiring in migrant worker dormitories, inspectors successively issued 5 "Notices to Correct Within a Time Limit" in accordance with the law, requiring construction units to immediately implement corrective measures, promptly eliminate fire hazards, and strictly prevent various fire accidents.

　　According to a relevant person in charge of the Wuzhong Fire Brigade, there are many fire hazards at construction sites under construction, including insufficient fire water sources, privately installed and randomly connected electrical wiring, use of substandard fire products, illegal operations by electric welders, and accumulation of construction waste. Arbitrarily disposing of construction site garbage is a relatively common phenomenon at construction sites. The fire department reminds that construction sites must not burn garbage at will; garbage should be dumped in fixed locations and handled by designated personnel. Do not randomly dump calcium carbide residue, residual liquefied petroleum gas liquid, or other flammable substances into garbage piles; when dumping various types of garbage, combustible and flammable materials should be separated and dumped at designated locations for disposal.
