Recently, the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has made new progress, with the main line tunnel on the East Artificial Island preparing for pavement concrete pouring.

These past two days, at the construction site of the main line tunnel on the East Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in Guangdong, builders have been racing against the schedule to carry out preparatory work before pavement concrete pouring. This tunnel is the main structure and controlling project of the East Artificial Island and will enable interconnection between the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the Yanjiang Expressway. It is understood that the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is scheduled to be ready for traffic in June this year, at which point the journey from Zhongshan, Guangdong to Shenzhen will be shortened from the current roughly two hours to under 30 minutes.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link starts in Shenzhen, Guangdong in the east and ends in Zhongshan in the west. It is a super-large cross-sea cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interchanges," and is also one of the core projects of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction.
