Since the fourth quarter of 2023, construction sites across Wucheng District, Jinhua City, have presented a busy scene of all-out sprinting. At the construction site of the Jiande–Wuyi Expressway project, machines roar and workers carry out their duties, pressing ahead with fine grading of the roadbed and the construction of bridge deck systems and ancillary works. "At present, we are seizing the fine weather to accelerate project construction," said project manager Luo Chenhao. The project's overall image progress has reached 41%, completing the scheduled target ahead of time. Next, we will continue to strictly control safety and quality to ensure the smooth completion of the project.

It is understood that the Wucheng section of the Jianwu Expressway is a provincial "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" project. The project starts at Chishan Village, Shanghua Subdistrict, Lanxi City, Jinhua, passes through Shanghua Subdistrict of Lanxi City and Bailongqiao Town and Langya Town of Wucheng District, and sets up the Bailongqiao Interchange at the intersection with the S315 Sanmen–Longyou Highway (Hongdai Highway). It ends on the north side of Langya Town, Wucheng District, connecting via the Langya Hub with the planned Ningbo–Jinhua–Quzhou–Shangrao Expressway. The designed length is 12.77 km, adopting a dual-direction six-lane standard with a design speed of 120 km/h, and it is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025.

To ensure the project's quality and progress, the Wucheng Transport Bureau has also introduced intelligent and digital supervision equipment. Entering the project department of the Wucheng section of the Jianwu Expressway, a huge digital screen stands out. It is reported that the digital screen is based on the project's BIM model and integrates GIS-related data. It can display the completed project scene in 3D and, through business data integration, link modules such as investment, progress, quality, safety, and IoT, enabling real-time display of construction data during project construction. This achieves data fusion and one-cabin overview, assists project decision-making, and provides data support for project completion acceptance and later operation and maintenance.

The project started construction in November 2022. For more than a year, the builders have raced against time to seize the schedule, done everything possible to ensure quality, and persistently guaranteed safety, ensuring the project advances in an orderly and safe manner according to the established milestones. With the close cooperation of multiple units, the project has exceeded the scheduled target ahead of time, laying a solid foundation for a full fourth-quarter final push and a smooth start in 2024.

After the project is completed, it will form the western line of the Jinhua Ring Expressway. Together with the Shanghai–Kunming Expressway (Hangzhou–Jinhua–Quzhou Expressway), the Changchun–Shenzhen Expressway (Jinhua–Lishui–Wenzhou Expressway), and the planned Ningbo–Jinhua–Quzhou–Shangrao Expressway, it will build a complete closed loop of the Jinhua Ring Expressway, playing an important role in improving the regional expressway network and driving economic development and industrial agglomeration along the route.

When transportation thrives, the economy thrives. Wucheng lies at the heart of central Zhejiang, with obvious locational advantages in shipping and land transport, and has always given priority to transportation construction. Since 2023, Wucheng has comprehensively advanced the comprehensive transportation construction system of "one port, two railways, three rail transits, three expressways, four trunk roads, and five connections," implementing 23 comprehensive transportation campaign projects with a total investment of 32.9 billion yuan. Longqian North Street, the Shanghua–Langya Highway, the G60 Expressway Wucheng Interchange, and the Nanshan Scenic Trail beautiful landscape enhancement and renovation project have been completed, and the Luoyang Operation Area and the GLP Logistics Park have been put into use. In the third quarter, among Zhejiang Province's "Ten Major Projects," it also ranked first in the province in the evaluation of the world-class strong port and strong transportation province construction project and was rated five-star.

Roads signify major development and embody the concerns of people's livelihoods. The urban framework is constantly expanding, rural travel is more convenient, the travel environment is beautiful and comfortable, and regional connectivity is more evident... The convenient and efficient transportation network has not only paved a "fast lane" for development but also built a "bridge of happiness" to the hearts of the people. As transportation projects are developed and implemented one after another, Wucheng's transportation advantages are gradually transforming into economic development advantages, propelling high-quality economic and social development onto the "fast lane."
