On November 28, the left tube of the Yicheng Tunnel on the Pingcen Expressway, located in Lantou Village, Sanbao Town, Cenxi City, Guangxi, was successfully holed through.

It is understood that the Yicheng Tunnel on the Pingcen Expressway is a separated tunnel running in a northwest-southeast direction. Both the entrance and exit adopt end-wall type portal structures. The left tube has a total length of 671 meters and the right tube 732 meters. The tunnel features complex geology, soft and muddy portal sections, and poor surrounding rock, posing relatively high construction safety risks.

To achieve safe and smooth holing-through of the tunnel, the No. 8 Civil Engineering Project Management Department of the Pingcen Expressway under CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. used Party building to drive youth league building, leading the project's "Youth Safety Posts" and "Workers' Vanguard Team" to fight on the front line, ensuring safety, promoting production, and achieving the smooth holing-through of the tunnel with emphasis on both quality and quantity.

It is reported that the Pingcen Expressway has a total length of 75.017 kilometers and adopts the technical standard of a two-way, four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It has four hub interchanges connecting with the Liuwu, Guiwu, Cangrong, and Baomao expressways, and four ground-level interchanges in Mengjiang Town, Tianping Town, Jinji Town, and Sanbao Town, along with two service areas and one management and maintenance area. The route intersects with the Nanning-Guangzhou Railway, the Liuzhou-Wuzhou Railway (under construction concurrently by Guangxi Communications Investment Group), and the Yizhan Railway. Once completed, the project will advance the county-level road network攻坚 project within the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Zone and support and lead county-level economic development; at the same time, it will add a new longitudinal corridor for Wuzhou City, which is of great significance for improving the regional road network structure.
