On November 16, the reporter learned from the Shudao Group that today, as the girder-erecting machine steadily placed the last prefabricated box girder, weighing about 370 tons and 32 meters long, between Pier No. 1 and Abutment No. 0 of the Fengjiasi Middle Bridge, it marked the completion of girder erection for all 112 main-line bridges on the Nanchong-Bazhong section of the Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway.

The Nanchong-Bazhong section of the Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway is the first high-speed railway in Sichuan Province to be fully funded and led by local authorities. It has a total length of 148.04 kilometers, a design speed of 250 km/h, and a total of 6 stations. The entire line has 124 bridges, including 112 main-line bridges and 12 connecting-line bridges. The line starts from Nanchong North Station on the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway, passes through Shunqing District, Peng'an County, Nanbu County, and Yilong County in Nanchong City, and Enyang District, Bazhou District, and the Economic Development Zone in Bazhong City, and connects to Bazhong East Station.

It is understood that the Nanchong-Bazhong section of the Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway has three girder fabrication yards in Yilong, Ma'an, and Peng'an, which respectively undertake the prefabrication and erection of a total of 1,243 box girders for the entire line. As of now, the Nanchong-Bazhong section project has completed 82.81% of the investment plan cumulatively; the pre-station works are basically complete, the track works are 78.5% complete, the station building works are 72% complete, and the "four-electric" works are 70% complete. The overall progress of the project is under control, and it is expected to open for operation in 2024.

The Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway is a major transportation project for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and regional economic cooperation and development. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will be of great significance for driving northeastern Sichuan to integrate into the national high-speed rail network, improving the intercity railway network of the Chengdu-Chongqing region, further promoting the rapid economic and social development of northeastern Sichuan, and boosting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Main-line bridges have larger spans and load-bearing capacity and can support train operation and loads. Connecting-line bridges refer to branch-line or connecting-section bridges that link two or more high-speed railway trunk lines. The connecting-line bridges of the Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway initially connect to the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway and later lead into the Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou Railway.
