Following the completion of the final concrete pour for the pile foundation of Pier 44, Pile 0 of the Tuohu Grand Bridge on the Wu-Meng Expressway, all 420 pile foundations of the Tuohu Grand Bridge have now been completed. On October 29, at the Tuohu Grand Bridge construction site, hundreds of workers were busy erecting box girders; in the distance, on the steel box girder spanning the Tuohu embankment, workers were carrying out welding operations, taking a key step forward for the bridge.

The construction "progress bar" of the Tuohu Grand Bridge on the Wu-Meng Expressway has been refreshed.

It is reported that the Wu-Meng Expressway project is led and invested in by Bengbu Urban Investment Company and is the first expressway project entirely independently invested in and constructed by Bengbu City. The Wuhe-to-Mengcheng Expressway project has a total length of nearly 120 kilometers and an approved estimated budget of 14.797 billion yuan. The project starts in Shuangzhongmiao Town, Wuhe County, passes through Guzhen and Huaiyuan westward, and ends in Banqiaoji Town, Mengcheng County, connecting with the Bo-Meng Expressway under construction. It has four hub interchanges: Wuhe North, Guzhen South, Baoji, and Banqiaoji, and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of December 2025. The entire line adopts a dual four-lane configuration, with an integral subgrade width of 27.0 meters, asphalt concrete pavement, and a design speed of 120 km/h. The entire line has a total of 8 grand bridges and 4 hub interchanges. Among them, the Tuohu Grand Bridge (3147 m) in the TJ-01 section, constructed by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., crosses the provincial-level nature reserve Tuohu Lake, resembling a flowing ribbon tied around this beautiful pearl of northern Anhui.

Since the commencement order was issued in July, the Wu-Meng Expressway project department has carefully organized, scientifically planned, and coordinated resources, successively completing 659 pile foundations, 150 tie beams, 300 columns, 105 bent caps, 195 precast box girders, 16 box girder installations, 5 box culverts, 10 circular pipe culverts, 136,000 cubic meters of subgrade fill, and 1,330 t of steel box girders, laying a solid foundation and adding bricks and mortar with hard work and sweat for the construction of this "road to prosperity."

The Wu-Meng Expressway project is an important inter-provincial corridor connecting Henan, Anhui, and Jiangsu, and an important component of the expressway network in northern Anhui. It will play an important role in improving the expressway network of northern Anhui, accelerating the high-quality development of the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt, and promoting regional economic revitalization and development.
