The Belt and Road Initiative is an important international cooperation initiative launched by China, aimed at promoting economic cooperation and development among the countries along the route. Under this initiative, China Huadian Corporation responded actively and undertook the construction of the Lower Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Project in Cambodia. This project not only reflects the strength and contribution of China Huadian Corporation, but also demonstrates the sense of responsibility of Chinese enterprises in promoting international cooperation and development.

Through this project, China Huadian Corporation has provided electricity to the local people, lit up their lives, and enabled them to see the light of hope in the darkness. Since its completion and commissioning in 2013, the Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station has cumulatively produced approximately 10 billion kWh of green energy, providing strong impetus for Cambodia's economic development.

At peak times, the power generation of the Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station accounted for 30% of Cambodia's national electricity, which greatly advanced Cambodia's power sector. Electricity is an important cornerstone of the development of modern society; with an adequate power supply, Cambodia's various undertakings can develop better. In addition, the construction of the Stung Russei Chrum Hydropower Station also created employment opportunities for local people and drove local economic development.

Through this project, Cambodia's electricity price has also dropped from a maximum of 0.9 US dollars per kWh to 0.16 US dollars, and the quality of life of the people has thus been significantly improved. The reduction in electricity prices has enabled people to better enjoy modern life and brought them more opportunities for development. At the same time, China Huadian Corporation has also actively participated in local public welfare undertakings, providing more help and support to the local people.
