Recently, it was learned from the Shaoxing Municipal Water Resources Bureau that the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission has officially approved the feasibility study report for the Sanxi Reservoir Project in Shengzhou City, marking that the Sanxi Reservoir Project has officially entered the substantive construction stage.

The Sanxi Reservoir Project in Shengzhou City is located on the Shihuang River, a tributary of the Changle River in the Cao'e River Basin. It is a comprehensive water conservancy project focused on flood control and irrigation, combined with multiple functions such as improving the water ecological environment and power generation. With a total investment of 1.957 billion yuan, it is the largest water conservancy project ever invested in Shengzhou City. In early 2023, the Sanxi Reservoir Project in Shengzhou City was included in the major project library of the province's "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" initiative to expand effective investment in 2023.

After the implementation of the Sanxi Reservoir Project, the flood control capacity of both banks of the Shihuang River downstream of the reservoir can be raised to withstand a 20-year return period flood, and the flood control pressure on the main stream of the Changle River can be alleviated; the irrigation guarantee rate for 23,000 mu of farmland downstream of the reservoir can be raised to 90%, improving the water ecological environment of the basin. At the same time, in combination with functional adjustments, it can replace the irrigation water volume currently undertaken by the Bantou Reservoir and enhance the water supply guarantee capacity for the integrated area of Shengzhou City. The construction of the project is of great significance for promoting local high-quality economic and social development.

Supporting major water conservancy development with major projects, promoting the high-quality development of water conservancy in Shaoxing City, and benefiting the people. It was learned that in 2023, a total of 17 water conservancy projects in the city were included in the major project library of Zhejiang Province's "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" initiative to expand effective investment, with a total investment of 55.19 billion yuan. Among them, there are 5 projects in water resource allocation, with a total investment of 26.59 billion yuan; 10 projects in flood control and drainage, with a total investment of 25.71 billion yuan; and 2 projects in water ecological protection and governance, with a total investment of 2.89 billion yuan.

"Those selected are all major water conservancy projects within the city." A relevant person in charge of the Shaoxing Municipal Water Resources Bureau introduced that after the projects are included in the major project library of the provincial "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" initiative, the provincial and municipal levels will focus on these projects, further consolidate and tighten responsibilities, and at the same time provide strong guarantees for factors such as funds and land use to ensure that the projects are accelerated.
