On October 17, the right tube of the Zhoujiachong Tunnel, one of the key control works of the tenth construction division of the Lih-Lou Expressway, was successfully holed through, laying a solid foundation for the full-line breakthrough of the Lih-Lou Expressway project by the end of this year.

The tunnel is located in Zhoujia Group, Quanba Village, Xingzipu Town, Shuangfeng County, Loudi City, with a total length of 1,990 meters and a maximum burial depth of about 140 meters. It is designed for a speed of 100 km/h and built to the standard of a two-way, six-lane expressway. It is a separated tunnel with a small clear distance; the entrance portal adopts an end-wall type, and the exit portal adopts a bamboo-cut type.

The rock mass of the tunnel is fractured and has poor self-stability, making collapse highly likely during construction. At the same time, affected by groundwater, mud and water inrushes are prone to occur.

Before construction, the project department, together with geological and tunnel experts, conducted on-site surveys on multiple occasions and carried out advance geological forecasting and technical verification. During construction, the project department consistently adhered to Party building leadership, fully leveraged the role of the Party branch as a fighting fortress and the exemplary vanguard role of Party members, actively applied the achievements of the "four new technologies" and "micro-innovation in craftsmanship," continuously optimized the construction plan, reasonably arranged the sequencing of processes, promptly adjusted support parameters, and strengthened the investigation and treatment of safety hazards, ensuring that the tunnel quality met design requirements and that no safety liability accidents occurred.
