The Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project is a key infrastructure and livelihood water conservancy project at the provincial and municipal levels, and also a major project for the production and domestic water use of military, police, civilians and the economic development zone in Mazongshan Town, Subei County. At present, the project has been completed and has entered the final commissioning stage.

In recent years, the project department and construction contractors of the Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project in Subei County have closely followed the work requirements of key-oriented advancement, refined implementation, and long-term management and protection, establishing dedicated task forces and carrying out operations with charts and plans. Under the premise of strictly controlling construction standards and strictly managing project quality, they have organized construction machinery and workers to go full steam ahead and work overtime to fully advance the project progress.

Bai Zhijun, Deputy Director of the Project Department of the Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project in Subei County: "As a dedicated task force assigned by the County Party Committee and County Government to coordinate with the project work, the project department is mainly responsible for overall coordination and service liaison with enterprises during project construction. Since the end of June this year, as the project entered the final decisive stage, we have, in response to the actual needs of enterprises and project advancement, moved the entire team to the front line of the project, providing forward-leaning services and supervision to push progress, and adhered to the principle of 'resolving problems without delay overnight and implementing measures by breaking convention,' promptly helping investor and construction enterprises resolve and handle multiple difficult issues affecting project construction and emergency faults occurring during commissioning and operation, effectively driving the project progress."

Zhao Yongqing, Chief Engineer of the Subei County Mazongshan Water Supply Project Department: "The Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project in Subei County is the largest water conservancy construction project implemented since the county was established, and also ranks among the top in the country in terms of long-distance and high-lift water conveyance. The main construction content of the project includes: newly building 205.2 kilometers of water conveyance pipelines, constructing 12 stages of cascade pumping stations, supporting 36 sets of electromechanical equipment, building 2 new storage reservoirs, and constructing 206 kilometers of new power transmission lines. It is constructed simultaneously in three sub-projects: the main pipeline and pumping station works, the power transmission line works, and the shared water intake pumping station works near the reservoir. At present, all construction units have basically completed their construction tasks, and the overall project has entered commissioning and operation."

It is understood that the Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project has a total length of 205.25 kilometers and a total investment of 970 million yuan, and the project is constructed under the PPP model. The project mainly consists of structures such as cascade pumping stations, water supply pipelines, storage reservoirs, and substations. Up to now, all 12 stages of pumping stations have passed initial response operation, the entire 205.2-kilometer water conveyance pipeline has been connected with water throughout, and 1,000 cubic meters of water has been injected into the Mazongshan Town reservoir at the receiving end.

The Mazongshan Town Water Supply Project will effectively solve the serious water shortage problem in the Mazongshan area, and provide water resource guarantees for the economic development of the Mazongshan area by ensuring water use for the military, police and civilians, improving the production and living conditions of herdsmen, resolving the water resource utilization bottleneck of industrial and mining enterprises, reducing groundwater extraction, preventing geological subsidence, and protecting the ecological environment.

Subei County is the only border county in Gansu Province, and Mazongshan Town is the only border defense township and one of the first pilot towns for the national 'Prospering Border Areas and Enriching the People Action Central Town' construction. When the border thrives, the frontier thrives; when border residents are prosperous, border defense is solid. In recent years, Subei County has closely focused on the county party committee's '126' development approach and the 'doubling and ranking up' development goal, concentrating on the construction of the Mazongshan ten-billion-level mineral resource deep processing base, the ten-million-kilowatt-level new energy power generation base, the hundred-million-ton-level logistics hub base, and the 'pilot town for prospering border areas and enriching the people central town,' continuously increasing investment, enhancing and improving the urban functions of Mazongshan Town, filling shortcomings in infrastructure and public service facilities, and fully advancing the pilot construction of the Mazongshan Prospering Border Areas and Enriching the People Action Central Town, laying a solid foundation for striving to build a demonstration county of socialist modernization in ethnic regions featuring 'strong industry, beautiful ecology, ethnic unity, and thriving borders with prosperous people.'
