This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing from October 17 to 18, under the theme of "High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity."

Actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative

Covering 121 Belt and Road partner countries

As of June 2023, China has signed more than 200 Belt and Road cooperation documents with 152 countries and 32 international organizations. The Belt and Road partner countries have extended from the Eurasian continent to all regions of the world.

The Belt and Road Initiative has brought development opportunities to partner countries and provided a broad stage for SANY's development. Since 2012, riding the momentum of the Belt and Road, SANY has accelerated its "going global" pace under the strategy of "self-reliance, local operation, and service first," entering the period of its fastest globalization development.

Currently, SANY's business covers 121 Belt and Road partner countries. In 2022, SANY's overseas sales exceeded 40 billion yuan, of which total sales in Belt and Road partner countries exceeded 20 billion, accounting for 52% of the Group's total overseas sales (including Putzmeister).

In Belt and Road partner countries, SANY has a total of 25 subsidiaries, 428 outlets, 633 SANY employees, 2,024 dealer employees, and 1,245 service vehicles, serving global markets with global resources.

Burningishing the Chinese brand

Over the past decade, the China-Laos Railway has transformed Laos from a landlocked country into a land-linked country; the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway has ushered Indonesia into the high-speed rail era; the Padma Bridge has fulfilled Bangladesh's millennium-old dream of crossing the river; Africa has its first transnational electrified railway, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway; Algeria's East-West Highway stretches for thousands of miles, turning a "dead-end road" into a "road to prosperity"; and the "train of happiness" is speeding along the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway...

In these Belt and Road landmark projects, SANY equipment is everywhere, building a calling card for China's equipment manufacturing with extremely high quality and helping partner countries realize their dreams of prosperity and development.

During the peak construction period of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, SANY had more than 500 large pieces of equipment participating in the construction, including over 150 excavators, more than 60 rotary drilling rigs, over 50 cranes, more than 150 mixer trucks, over 20 mixing stations, and more than 30 pump trucks and trailer pumps, responsible for earthwork and tunnel operations, concrete transportation and pumping, cast-in-place pile and hoisting construction along the entire line, with a market share exceeding 80%.

In Africa, 193 SANY machines fully participated in the 1,216-kilometer Algeria East-West Highway connecting three countries, including 56 road rollers, 32 graders, 5 pavers, and more than ten other types of products. The project is located in hilly and gully terrain with steep topography and complex geology, mostly marl known as a "geological minefield." SANY equipment perfectly overcame numerous difficulties and won praise from the construction contractor.

In the process of deeply cultivating the Belt and Road, SANY has brought technology to local areas and created local employment opportunities, including creating more than 2,000 jobs in Indonesia and more than 5,000 person-times of employment opportunities in Africa, truly reaching the hearts of the people in Belt and Road partner countries.

The first overseas "Lighthouse Factory"

Leading China's intelligent manufacturing going global

While products and services go global and help infrastructure "hard connectivity," China's intelligent manufacturing is also going global.

On August 15, 2022, the first SY215CKD excavator produced by SANY's Indonesia "Lighthouse Factory" rolled off the assembly line, opening a new chapter in SANY's overseas intelligent manufacturing. On September 12, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Phase II project with a total investment of 150 million US dollars.

SANY's Indonesia "Lighthouse Factory" is SANY's first "Lighthouse Factory" deployed overseas and also the first overseas "Lighthouse Factory" in China's construction machinery industry.

The factory incorporates the core achievements of SANY's more than 40 domestic "Lighthouse Factories." It has more than 500 robots of various types but only over 100 workers. In the nearly 10,000-square-meter production area, humans and machines are highly coordinated, and major processes such as logistics and commissioning have achieved full network connectivity and unmanned production, serving as a benchmark for driving China's intelligent manufacturing technology and standards going global.

In addition, more SANY overseas "Lighthouse Factories" are under construction, promoting and replicating domestic intelligent manufacturing standards globally and continuously contributing more strength to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
