On October 13, the 2023 "Sci-Tech Innovation Jiangsu" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Equipment Manufacturing Sector Finals were grandly held in Xuzhou. Twenty-nine teams from universities, research institutions, high-tech enterprises and other organizations competed on site. After intense competition, XCMG Foundation's "Key Technology Research and Application of the XTC120 Series Double-Wheel Trench Cutter" won the first prize in the Equipment Manufacturing Innovation Group with the highest total score.

The XCMG Foundation project "Key Technology Research and Application of the XTC120 Series Double-Wheel Trench Cutter" overcame key core technologies such as "underwater transmission and pumping," "automatic feed and deviation correction control," "underwater electric-drive hydraulic system and underwater drive control," and "dual-hub heavy-duty milling wheels and independent gear swinging," and developed the XTC120 series pump-lift double-wheel trench cutter and achieved industrialization.

After extensive verification by industry and academia, XCMG's XTC series double-wheel trench cutter products have been recognized as reaching the international advanced level in overall performance, among which core technologies such as "attitude guidance control technology and pressure compensation device for heavy-duty cutter frames" and "split-type milling wheel drive technology and device" have reached the international leading level.

The XCMG XTC120 series double-wheel trench cutter was officially launched to the market in August 2020. To date, more than 30 units have been sold. Upon launch, the product received high praise and favor from customers, and small-batch exports have already been achieved.

It is understood that the 2023 "Sci-Tech Innovation Jiangsu" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, themed "Self-Reliance and Self-Improvement in Science and Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Driving Development," was hosted by the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, the Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and the Communist Youth League Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and jointly organized by the Xuzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, the Xuzhou Association for Science and Technology, and the Provincial Society Service Center.
