The G98 Ring Island Expressway Dapo Interchange Reconstruction Project is a key provincial government-invested reconstruction project of a western Hainan expressway interchange transportation hub. Since construction began in June this year, the contractor has seized every opportunity to advance the schedule, efficiently and steadily pushing the project forward and constantly refreshing its "progress bar."
At the construction site, the reporter saw bulldozers, road rollers, excavators, dump trucks and other machinery operating with a constant roar, while workers methodically carried out subgrade filling and cast-in-place box girder formwork construction in preparation for subsequent concrete pouring, presenting a bustling scene of intense construction activity. Not far away, the centralized rebar processing plant and concrete batching plant built by the project department were also operating at full capacity to ensure continuity of construction.
It is understood that the project route totals 4.25 kilometers in length, of which the main line of the interchange reconstruction works covers stakes K438+800 to K440+890, a route length of 2.090 kilometers; the interchange connecting road starts at the beginning of Qiziwan Avenue at stake LK0+000 and ends at Changjiang Avenue at stake LK2+160, with a total length of 2.160 kilometers. The interchange connecting road intersects the G98 Ring Island Expressway at K439+797.8, forming a grade-separated interchange.

The project includes a total of 595.32 m of bridges in 5 structures and 20 culverts. The main line is designed for a speed of 100 km/h with a subgrade width of 24.5 meters; one-way single-lane ramps are designed for 40 km/h with a subgrade width of 9 meters; one-way two-lane ramps are designed for 60 km/h with a subgrade width of 10.5 meters.
The total construction period is 18 months. To date, 87.4% of the project's annual investment plan has been completed and 24.9% of overall project progress has been achieved. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of October next year. Once completed, it will effectively address the inconvenience of vehicles entering and exiting the expressway, further improve the traffic capacity and service level of the existing interchange, and provide strong transportation infrastructure support for the economic and social development of Changjiang.
