The Guangzhou-Foshan West Ring Intercity Railway starts from Foshan West Station, passes through Nanhai District of Foshan City and Huadu District and Baiyun District of Guangzhou City, and ends at Guangzhou North Station. A total of 7 new stations will be built along the line: Shishandong, Dalan, Guanyao South, Hegui, Tanbu, Huadugang and Shenshan North. Shanghai Yuanyang is responsible for the bridge pile foundations of the Hegui Grand Bridge and the Hegui Station Grand Bridge, as well as pile foundation construction for the maintenance work area and the Hegui Station building piles.

In June 2023, upon receiving notice from the client, the Shanghai Yuanyang Guangzhou-Foshan West Ring Intercity Railway project team mobilized to the site for construction without delay. After mobilization, the project team planned scientifically, laid out the site rationally, strictly managed safety production, strictly controlled quality, and strictly implemented civilized construction, actively striving to make this work section a benchmark project for safe and civilized construction along the entire line.

The project is located in an area with strong karst development, where engineering problems such as collapse and settlement are prone to occur. To avoid such engineering problems, during the formulation of the construction plan, Shanghai Yuanyang drew on its experience in numerous similar geomorphological engineering projects in the Guangdong region and developed a scientific and reasonable special construction plan for the project. In terms of staffing, Shanghai Yuanyang not only selected and assigned a number of technical and construction personnel with rich experience in karst cave construction, but also conducted multiple special training sessions on karst cave construction management for all project participants, ensuring that construction personnel at each process have sufficient understanding and control capability for construction under geological conditions with strong karst development. In terms of equipment input, Shanghai Yuanyang specially deployed machinery and equipment suited to the actual construction of the project, including Sany SH36 rotary drilling rigs, XCMG XR360 rotary drilling rigs, and Kato HD2045 steel plate clamps.

The project team adhered to a work style of rising to challenges and striving for progress, faced construction difficulties directly, and formulated rigorous and reasonable plans and measures to overcome production difficulties and pain points, ensuring orderly progress of the project construction schedule and safeguarding the construction quality of the pile foundations. It has been recognized and praised by the client in many aspects such as safety, quality, and civilized construction.

Once the Guangzhou-Foshan West Ring Intercity Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will further improve the comprehensive transportation system between Guangzhou and Foshan, facilitate resource interaction among regions along the line, and powerfully drive the economic and cultural prosperity and development of the regions along the line. Shanghai Yuanyang will make every effort to build solid pile foundations, so that solid foundation engineering can firmly support the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
