Recently, at the construction site of the continuous girder spanning Haibei West Street of the Wuhai Grand Bridge project of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, located near Haibei West Street in Haibowan District, the sounds of welding, hammering, and cutting rose and fell in succession. Beside Pier 34, a crane was carrying out lifting operations; on the cantilever segments of Piers 34 and 35, construction workers were performing top-slab rebar tying, corrugated pipe installation, and other work. At the site, standing on the cantilever segment of Pier 34, about 16 meters high, one could look down and see an endless stream of vehicles speeding past beneath the bridge.

The Wuhai Grand Bridge is 6,101.5 meters long, with a design of 1,763 piles and 184 pile caps. It is the longest-span bridge on the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway passing through our city and is constructed by China Railway 20th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. The continuous girder of Piers 33 to 36 spanning Haibei West Street (40 m + 64 m + 40 m) is one of the five continuous girder units of the Wuhai Grand Bridge that span municipal roads.

It is understood that the continuous girder spanning Haibei West Street is 144 meters long and 12.2 meters wide at the deck, with a total of 23 segments, including 2 No. 0 blocks, 16 cantilever segments, 2 side-span cast-in-place segments, 2 side-span closure segments, and 1 mid-span closure segment. The No. 0 blocks and side-span cast-in-place segments are constructed using socket-type ringlock scaffolding, the cantilever segments are constructed using diamond-shaped form travelers, and the concrete volume used is approximately 2,018 cubic meters.

Li Rui, deputy manager of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Project Management Department of China Railway 20th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said: "At present, the continuous girder spanning Haibei West Street is under construction of Block No. 7 and is expected to complete closure by the end of September. In addition, the continuous girder spanning Wuzhumu Road is under construction of Block No. 1, the continuous girder spanning Haida West Street to Shifu Avenue is under pile cap construction, and the remaining two continuous girder units are also progressing in an orderly manner. According to the construction plan, the Wuhai Grand Bridge is expected to complete its substructure construction by August 2024."

At the automated small precast component factory of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Project Department of China Railway 20th Bureau, it was observed that after processes such as spraying, rebar placement, feeding, casting and vibration, curing, and demolding, a row of subgrade fences was produced.

This precast component factory is the first automated small precast component factory built in our city. It is located on the south side of Xinfeng Village, Qianlishan Town, Haibowan District, with a building area of about 7,200 square meters. It mainly produces small precast components such as subgrade fences, cable troughs, hexagonal bricks, shielding panels, and cover slabs for Section 8 of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Project constructed by China Railway 20th Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
