Recently, two working faces of the Yantai Urban Expressway Tashan North Road Project—the Qingnian Road ramp and the Tashan West Entrance—successfully achieved tunnel breakthrough (entry into the mountain), marking that the project's mountain-crossing tunnel section has entered a stage of vigorous and rapid construction. As of now, the project has achieved breakthrough operations at four locations.

The Qingnian Road ramp connects to the main line of the Zhenshan section to the west and extends to the Hongqi Road surface road to the east. After the ramp construction enters the main line, it will undertake approximately 680 meters of construction tasks for the main-line tunnel of the Zhenshan section. The Tashan West Entrance is located on the west side of the Tashan Tunnel, connecting to the project's urban-crossing section, and will undertake approximately 1,360 meters of construction tasks for the main-line tunnel of the Tashan section. Next, the project team will organize meticulously and plan comprehensively to ensure tunnel safety, accelerate tunnel excavation, and build a benchmark tunnel.

Yantai Urban Expressway Tashan North Road, as Yantai's planned east-west express corridor, is an important component of the "one axis, one horizontal, three verticals" expressway network and connects with three planned longitudinal express corridors. It links major urban functional areas such as the Development Zone cluster, Fushan cluster, Zhifu Bay Vitality Core Area, and Laishan Administrative Center Area, undertakes horizontal traffic connections within the city, and is an important east-west high-capacity traffic corridor. Once completed, it will promote Yantai's economic development and lay an important foundation for the layout and construction of Yantai's expressway network.
