The reporter learned on the 26th from Chongqing City Construction Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. that the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge, a key municipal project in Chongqing organized and constructed by the company, broke ground in full on that day, laying the foundation for the rapid advancement of subsequent construction.

It is reported that the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge project is an important component of Chongqing's Expressway No. 5 Connecting Line. The project starts in the west at the West Bridgehead Interchange in Shilong Village, Caijia Area, crosses the Jialing River, and extends east to the Chunxuan Interchange in Yuelai Area, with a total length of approximately 3.34 kilometers.

The project is designed to urban expressway standards with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The entire project comprises three parts: the Baoshan Bridge, the West Bridgehead Interchange, and the Chunxuan Interchange. The main span of the bridge is 250 meters, with a standard width of 39 meters, featuring eight lanes in both directions and 3-meter-wide sidewalks on each side; the West Bridgehead Interchange has 10 ramps; and the Chunxuan Interchange has 8 ramps.

Li Chen, project manager of the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge, introduced that the builders are going all out to advance the project. The concrete pouring for the first pile foundation is expected to be completed in early September, and efforts will be made to complete the pile foundation for Pier P3 of the main bridge before December.

After the project opens to traffic, the fastest travel time from Caijia to Central Park will be just over 10 minutes, which will rapidly advance economic and cultural exchanges between Beibei District and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and enhance the city's quality and competitiveness.

Chongqing is recognized as China's "City of Bridges" by the Bridge Committee of the Beijing Mao Yisheng Science and Technology Education Foundation. As of now, a total of 37 river-crossing bridges (referring to river-crossing road bridges, including combined road-rail bridges but excluding standalone rail bridges and railway bridges) have been completed in Chongqing's central urban area.
