Construction location: Huanggang City, Hubei Province

(1) Yingshan-Huangmei Expressway

Construction scale: The Yingshan-Huangmei Expressway is a newly built expressway project. The route starts near Dongjieling Village north of Caopandi Town in Yingshan County at the border between Hubei and Anhui provinces, connecting with the Tiantangzhai branch of the Anhui Hexian-Xiangyang Expressway, and ends near Qixing Village east of Huangmei urban area, connecting with the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. The total length is approximately 137.13 km (70.130 km within Yingshan, 38.059 km within Qichun, and 28.941 km within Huangmei). It is proposed to be built to the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 km/h and a subgrade width of 26 m. The project includes a total of 42,010 m/85 bridges, 25,572 m/14 tunnels, a bridge-tunnel ratio of 49.28%, 3 hub interchanges, 8 general interchanges, 3 service areas, 2 maintenance work areas, 2 road administration brigade barracks, 1 traffic police barracks, 1 monitoring and management sub-center, and 8 ramp toll stations. The total project investment is approximately 20.4 billion yuan.

(2) Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway Huangmei-Huangshi Section Reconstruction and Expansion Project

Construction scale: The route of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway Huangmei-Huangshi Section Reconstruction and Expansion Project starts at Jiezidun at the Hubei-Anhui provincial border in Dushan Town, Huangmei County, Huanggang City, with station number K678+969.389, and is reconstructed and expanded westward along the old road, ending east of Sanhua Interchange in Sanhua Town, Xishui County, Huanggang City, with station number K786+020. The total length is approximately 107 km, expanded from two-way four lanes to two-way eight lanes, with a design speed of 120 km/h and a subgrade width of 42 m. After expansion, the project includes a total of 8,671 m/81 bridges, 3 hub interchanges, 4 general interchanges, 3 service areas, 1 maintenance work area, 2 road administration brigade barracks, 1 traffic police barracks, 1 monitoring and management sub-center, 1 overweight inspection station, and 5 ramp toll stations. The total project investment is approximately 13.7 billion yuan.

1,440 calendar days, planned commencement date November 2023
