R&D personnel introduced that the Sunward SWHG70 is the first diaphragm wall hydraulic grab in China to successfully apply an electronic control system. The equipment automatically tensions during grabbing, features a long grab body guide structure design, push-plate type deviation correction, and real-time display of the trenching curve, achieving high trenching efficiency and fast response. In addition, the equipment offers the advantages of low operating cost and high reliability. It adaptively adjusts the oil fan speed according to working conditions, features sound field optimization, sound insulation and noise reduction, and is more environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

This diaphragm wall hydraulic grab from Sunward is suitable for diaphragm wall construction in subway stations, bridge anchorages, water conservancy resources, deep foundation pits, and more. The maximum trenching depth can reach 110 meters, the fastest lowering speed is 70 meters per minute, and the service life of the wire rope is increased by more than 50%.

Construction Method Synergy, Standing Out with Strength

With the rapid development of domestic and international subway construction, diaphragm walls, as an advanced subway station construction technology, have been widely applied. At the same time, the application of Sunward's diaphragm wall hydraulic grab is also increasing, and customer attention is growing day by day.

In July this year, the SWHG70 diaphragm wall hydraulic grab was deployed for construction at the "PASIR RIS EAST STATION subway station" project in Singapore. The diaphragm wall trenching depth is 20 to over 50 meters, the trenching thickness is 1.0-1.5 meters, with a total of more than 400 trench panels.

The equipment is currently constructing a wall with a thickness of 1.2 meters. The geological conditions are complex, the construction is adjacent to buildings, and the site is cramped, so normal construction positions cannot meet the construction requirements. In response, Sunward's R&D personnel specifically developed a hydraulic grab body slewing device, which enables 180-degree rotation of the grab body. Through the use of this device, the grab body can perform construction at any angle, solving the difficulties of construction near buildings and at corners. Since its launch, this device has been favored by overseas customers, and inquiries have already been received from multiple customers. This is also a typical case of Sunward's construction-method-driven equipment development and innovation.‍

Ningbo, Zhejiang

Coincidentally, in July this year, the SWHG70 was also deployed at the Wangtong Road Station of Phase I of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 6 in Zhejiang. The project has a trenching thickness of 0.8 meters and a trenching depth of 43 meters.

As the first Sunward diaphragm wall hydraulic grab to enter Ningbo for construction, the customer had been skeptical before entry about whether it could handle the project construction. After official commencement, the SWHG70 diaphragm wall hydraulic grab achieved an average trenching time of about 8-9 hours, with a daily output value reaching 140,000. After nearly a month of construction, the equipment performance was stable, exceeding customer expectations and winning customer trust.

The practical combat experience in major projects has confirmed the hardcore strength of Sunward's diaphragm wall hydraulic grab and demonstrated Sunward's strong foundation in construction methods.

To meet the construction needs of domestic and international customers, Sunward has now launched the new SWHG52 diaphragm wall hydraulic grab and SWHG72 diaphragm wall hydraulic grab, which can meet domestic and international emission regulations (same platform design for Stage III and Stage IV). These will enable application in more working conditions and safeguard major domestic and international projects.
