Director of the Ground Foundation Branch of the Architectural Society of China, focusing on research into geotechnical-structural interaction and committed to the practice of coordinated design of foundation geotechnics and structures. He has successively completed coordinated deformation-control design of pile-raft foundations for the Beijing Daxing International Airport terminal, Beijing CITIC Tower (China Zun), Xi'an International Financial Center Tower (350 m), and Beijing Lize SOHO; coordinated design of natural foundations on soft rock for the Changsha Beichen super high-rise building; pile foundation design for the Tangshan New World karst geology project; natural foundation design for the Beijing Lize Business District Shouchuang Tower (200 m); and split-level seismic isolation pile foundation design for the new terminal of Haikou Meilan Airport, among many other foundation designs and consulting services for buildings under complex working conditions and difficult geological conditions.‍

Theoretical research on foundation-superstructure interaction began in the 1950s, and China's engineering community simultaneously launched related research and early engineering practice. It was not until the early 1970s, with the gradual rise of high-rise buildings, that research on the interaction of high-rise buildings and foundations was promoted in China. The East Building of the Beijing Hotel is a representative building project example in which research and design were closely integrated. With the deepening of research and breakthroughs in practice, it has been successfully applied to high-rise and super high-rise buildings, with foundation types covering natural foundations, composite foundations, and pile foundations. The pile-raft design of super high-rise buildings has reached the international advanced level. Combined with classic examples, this report reviews the development path of interaction research and practice.
