At 9:18 a.m. on July 17, the underground diaphragm wall project for Houhu Siliu Road Station of Wuhan Metro Line 12, undertaken by Qiancheng Pile Engineering, officially commenced after meticulous preparation, with a commencement ceremony held on site.

Xu Jian, Chief Engineer of the Civil Engineering Section 7 project of Wuhan Metro Line 12 (Jiangbei Section) of China Railway 11th Bureau Urban Rail Transit Company, the general contractor, and Zhang Liang, Deputy Manager, together with the work area team; Huang Yong, Project Director of the Civil Engineering Section 7 project of Wuhan Metro Line 12 (Jiangbei Section) of Shanghai Weizhi Engineering Management Co., Ltd., the supervision unit, together with the supervision team for Houhu Siliu Road Station, attended to offer congratulations. Wu Songru, Senior Assistant to the General Manager of Qiancheng Pile Engineering; Duan Changheng, Deputy Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer of the Underground Space Business Division; and Wang Yanhai, Deputy General Manager of the Business Division and Commander of the Nanjing Engineering Command, attended the ceremony. Project Manager Xie Hui and all team members witnessed the commencement moment together.

The commencement ceremony was presided over by Duan Changheng. Chief Engineer Xu Jian and Director Huang Yong delivered important instructions on behalf of the general contractor and the supervision unit respectively, expressing earnest expectations and setting high standards and strict requirements for the project construction.

Commander Wang Yanhai delivered a commencement mobilization speech, affirming the project team's arduous efforts in uniting as one to make the most of sunny days and work through rainy ones, overcoming unfavorable factors such as tight schedules, heavy tasks, and a cramped site to complete the preliminary preparations within the specified time and drive the project to start on schedule. He expressed gratitude to the leaders of the general contractor and supervision unit for their strong support and close guidance to the project team during the commencement preparations. He pointed out that Houhu Siliu Road Station is another station undertaken by Qiancheng Pile Engineering on the important Wuhan Metro Line 12 loop line, following Guobo Center South Station, Central Garden Station, Wuchang Station, Zhongyi Road Station, Huanghai Road Station, and Sixin South Road Station, and also another collaboration between Qiancheng Pile Engineering and China Railway 11th Bureau on the basis of mutual trust and win-win cooperation. He required the project team to plan meticulously, organize rigorously, devote full effort, and cooperate fully, giving full play to the iron-army style of Qiancheng Pile Engineering, solidly carrying out all work, and striving to build the Houhu Siliu Road project into a high-quality project that reassures the general contractor, puts the supervision unit at ease, and satisfies the company, thereby laying a solid foundation for the company to achieve rolling operations and deeply cultivate development in the urban rail transit sector.

Project Manager Xie Hui made a commitment speech on behalf of the project team, stating that he will lead the project team to actively cooperate with all instructions and requirements of the general contractor and supervision unit, quickly set off a construction upsurge, fear no difficulties, and go all out to drive the project construction forward on schedule, achieve early results, and reap early fruits, delivering a satisfactory answer sheet to the general contractor, supervision unit, and company, and adding another model project through practical actions for Qiancheng Pile Engineering to deepen its cooperative relationship with China Railway 11th Bureau and continue to expand the urban rail transit market.

Wuhan Metro Line 12 has a total length of approximately 59.876 km, with 37 stations, crossing lakes twice and rivers three times, linking 7 administrative districts across the three towns of Wuhan. It is the first metro loop line in Wuhan and currently the longest metro loop line in China, achieving transfers with 18 other lines in the network. After the project is completed, it will effectively enhance the passenger flow appeal of the loop line, alleviate passenger flow pressure in the central urban area, and be of great significance to improving the city's comprehensive transportation system.

It is reported that the main body of Houhu Siliu Road Station runs along Xingye Road, spanning the two intersections of Houhu Sanlu Road and Houhu Siliu Road, and is arranged in an east-west direction as an underground three-level island-type station. The platform length is 140 m and the platform width is 14 m. The total outer length of the station is 318 m, and the total outer width of the standard section is 23.5 m. The main retaining structure adopts 1200 mm thick underground diaphragm walls, mainly in three forms: "I", "L", and "Z". Qiancheng Pile Engineering undertakes a total of 120 panels of underground diaphragm wall construction for this project.
