Liang Fayun

Professor and doctoral supervisor at Tongji University, and recipient of the 14th Mao Yisheng Youth Award in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. He serves as a council member of the Geotechnical Engineering Branch of the China Architectural Society, a council member of the Port Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, and Secretary-General of the Soft Soil Engineering Committee; he is also an editorial board member of journals such as Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering and China Journal of Highway and Transport. He is mainly engaged in teaching and research in the fields of soft soil foundations and underground engineering, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, and marine and deepwater foundations. His research is closely tied to the needs of major national infrastructure construction, and his achievements have won 2 first prizes and 6 second prizes for provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards.

Underground space development is an important component of the high-quality development of soft soil cities. As the construction of soft soil underground engineering intensifies, engineering accidents occur frequently, especially deep excavation projects in sensitive environments and subway tunnels subjected to sudden surcharge loading. The construction of soft soil underground engineering must focus on its own safety and its environmental impacts. Aiming at the difficulties in deformation analysis and precise control of underground engineering in sensitive environments, a deformation analysis method for deep foundation pits in soft soil considering small-strain stiffness was proposed, and corresponding micro-deformation control technologies were developed, achieving precise control of displacements of facilities in sensitive environments. The results have been applied to underground engineering construction in soft soil cities such as Shanghai.
