As the "dog days" of summer begin, the hottest period of the year has arrived—but even hotter than the weather is the atmosphere at the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity project site. At the Huayuan Station construction site, the arrival of the Sunward SWDM240EE range-extender electric rotary drilling rig has further ignited everyone's enthusiasm for work.

Recently, after more than a year of project initiation, R&D, manufacturing, and type testing, the Sunward SWDM240EE range-extender electric rotary drilling rig has successfully been deployed at the Huayuan Station site of the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity Railway, showcasing the prowess of a major-country heavy machine.

It is reported that the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity project is a "14th Five-Year Plan" construction project explicitly identified in the National Development and Reform Commission's "Multi-level Rail Transit Plan for the Yangtze River Delta Region," and will be planned and built as a rapid corridor connecting Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, and Yangzhou.

"Previously, our construction team's old rotary drilling rigs all used internal combustion engines. Especially older engines were often subject to strict monitoring by environmental protection authorities—non-compliant emissions would result in penalties or even expulsion from the site. Now we use the new-energy SWDM240EE range-extender electric rotary drilling rig, which has zero emissions and fully meets environmental requirements, so the equipment has no more worries." The customer stated that after just a few days of use, the performance of the SWDM240EE range-extender electric rotary drilling rig exceeded their expectations.

According to the customer, the first aspect is operating noise: electric motor drive replaces the internal combustion engine, providing completely silent transmission. Now only the sound of the equipment's power head and winch can be heard, and noise is greatly reduced. The second aspect is construction input: previously, traditional rotary drilling rigs required at least over 2,000 yuan per day for diesel fuel, but now using the strong power supplied by the client, cash input has been reduced by nearly 70,000 yuan per month. Finally, in terms of energy savings: for soil-layer piles more than 40 meters deep and 1 meter in diameter, 3 piles can be completed per day, with average power consumption of 25-30 kWh per hour and a maximum of 300 kWh per day. At a market price of 1.2 yuan per kWh, only 360 yuan in electricity costs is needed per day, reducing single-day construction costs by 80%.

"Facts speak louder than words. We have reason to believe that in the near future, new-energy rotary drilling rigs will win the favor of more users, just like the promotion of new-energy vehicles." Sunward's R&D personnel are full of confidence in new-energy products.

Facing the global warming trend, Sunward actively responds to the national "dual carbon strategy." Even against the backdrop of a cyclical industry downturn, it still invests manpower, material resources, and financial resources in the development and application of new-energy construction machinery products, which already cover electric excavators, electric aerial work platforms, electric rotary drilling rigs, and other products—contributing to the country while creating value for customers.
