In the first half of the year, China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway) acted proactively and advanced railway construction in a scientific and orderly manner, giving full play to the effective driving role of railway investment in investment across society. National railway fixed asset investment reached 304.9 billion yuan, up 6.9% year on year, providing strong support for expanding domestic demand, stabilizing growth and safeguarding people's livelihoods.

In the first half of the year, China Railway fully implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the important instructions and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping on railway work, integrated the thematic education campaign with the implementation of the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, and closely focused on the major railway projects set out in the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan. With emphasis on networking, filling gaps and strengthening chains, it highlighted the filling of shortcomings, the strengthening of weaknesses and the importance of supporting facilities, accelerated the building of a modern railway infrastructure system, and pushed a number of key projects to new progress.

In the first half of the year, China Railway worked hard to fully complete construction investment and physical workload, kept close watch on key projects under construction, scientifically allocated construction resources, optimized construction organization and scheduling, and strengthened on-site supervision and inspection. At the same time, it strengthened communication and coordination with relevant departments and enterprises, and actively advanced work such as land acquisition and demolition, municipal supporting facilities construction and external environment improvement.

In terms of key station building construction, the station building of Xi'an East Station officially started construction, and the steel structure of Guangzhou Baiyun Station was fully capped;

In terms of new line construction, the Guiyang-Nanning, Fuzhou-Xiamen and Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railways completed joint commissioning and testing across their entire lines; track laying was completed and the lines were connected for the Tianjin-Beijing Daxing International Airport railway, the Nanchang-Jingdezhen-Huangshan high-speed railway and the Fujian section of the Longyan-Longchuan high-speed railway; and breakthroughs were achieved in the controlling works of a number of key projects under construction, including the Baotou-Yinchuan high-speed railway, the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway and the Lijiang-Shangri-La railway.

In the first half of the year, preliminary work on a number of key projects accelerated. Feasibility studies were approved for eight projects: the Hefei-Wuhan section of the Yangtze River high-speed railway, the Zhangzhou-Shantou and Weifang-Suqian high-speed railways, the Huangtong-Baise, Pingliang-Qingyang, Shaoyang-Yongzhou and Wenshan-Mengzi railways, and the newly built Zhengzhou South Station and related works.

Next, China Railway will continue to serve and safeguard the implementation of major national strategies, actively and effectively give play to the driving role of investment, inject vitality into high-quality economic and social development, accelerate the building of a modern railway infrastructure system, and provide strong and solid guarantees for taking the lead in realizing railway modernization and serving as the "locomotive" that serves and supports Chinese modernization.
