On June 27-28, the "2023 China Equipment Aftermarket Industry Development Conference", themed "Intelligent Operation & Maintenance · Green Remanufacturing — Industry Drives the Future", was grandly held in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. More than 500 attendees participated in the conference, including leaders from national and local government departments and industry associations, experts and scholars from universities and research institutions, and entrepreneurs from various industries. The China Construction Machinery Association was invited to attend and delivered a report at the conference on the development status and trends of China's construction machinery aftermarket and relevant information about the BICES 2023 exhibition.

Li Yanxia, Deputy Chief Engineer of the China Machinery Industry Federation and Chairman of the China Association of Plant Engineering (CAPE), pointed out in her speech that CAPE's responsibilities are positioned in the equipment aftermarket, including equipment support, maintenance and modification, and green remanufacturing. Facing the demands and challenges of the new era of national development—such as equipment operation and maintenance, green dual-carbon goals, the integration of the two industries, bottleneck technologies, and the strategy of strengthening the nation through talent—this conference focuses on intelligent operation and maintenance and green remanufacturing, and is committed to building a national equipment service collaboration platform to contribute to promoting the high-quality development of the equipment aftermarket industry.

Li Chunjiang, Deputy Director of the Certification and Accreditation Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, pointed out: It is hoped that CAPE will seize the great development opportunities, strengthen mutual collaboration with national-level professional testing and certification institutions, and work together to ensure the quality of equipment operation and maintenance and remanufacturing from the source, safeguard the industry's reputation, and lead and promote the green, healthy, and high-quality development of the equipment aftermarket industry.

Bi Kaichun, First-Level Inspector (Director-General level) of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, put forward four requirements in his speech: In promoting the high-quality development of intelligent equipment operation and maintenance and green remanufacturing, the association should, first, return to the essence of quality; second, deepen the application of digital quality management; third, improve the quality and reliability of typical products in key industries; and fourth, accelerate the cultivation and creation of the "Made in China" brand.

Du Li from the Comprehensive Resource Utilization Division of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced the progress of work related to the remanufacturing of electromechanical products and the current situation and challenges, and put forward specific work requirements in terms of improving the remanufacturing management system and enhancing the level of remanufacturing technology and equipment.

Luo Junjie, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation (former Director of the First Equipment Department and former Director of the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), highly affirmed the achievements made by the seventh Council of CAPE in leading the industry in policy research and strengthening services since its transition one year ago. He noted that the association's holding of this conference is of great practical significance in promoting the development of the equipment aftermarket field, from equipment use, maintenance, and modification to remanufacturing.

Long Xiaohong, Vice Mayor of the Xiangyang Municipal People's Government of Hubei Province, delivered a speech at the conference.

Tan Jianrong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote report via video.

Xie Yulai, Secretary-General of the Aftermarket Production and Sales Branch of the China Construction Machinery Association, introduced the aftermarket situation of China's construction machinery industry at the conference, and explained the new situations, new changes, new trends, and new response measures that have emerged in the industry under the current new circumstances. He stated that aftermarket work is one of the nine key tasks of the construction machinery industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, has received widespread attention from relevant industry units, and has achieved certain development results. Xie Yulai also introduced the preparations for the BICES 2023 exhibition to be held in Beijing on September 20-23, stating that with strong support from inside and outside the industry, the number of exhibitors and exhibition area will reach new highs, and digital, intelligent, and green products will be showcased in a concentrated manner. This edition has also added an aftermarket zone, which has received active participation from relevant aftermarket industry units. He also highlighted the hundreds of high-level activities held concurrently with the exhibition, coverage by more than 200 Chinese and foreign media outlets, the organization of professional visitors at home and abroad, and improvements in exhibition operations. Finally, he extended an invitation to the conference attendees to visit BICES 2023.

The conference was chaired by Li Yingxun, Secretary-General of CAPE.

The conference content included special reports by academicians, experts and scholars, and entrepreneurs; high-end dialogues; conferences on intelligent operation and maintenance and green remanufacturing of mining equipment; a conference on the construction of an intelligent operation and maintenance platform for refining and chemical inspection and maintenance; supply-demand matching; exhibitions and displays; capacity assessment and quality management system certification for remanufacturing enterprises; award ceremonies for craftsman (master craftsman) studios and innovation-leading application cases; and the 2023 expert appointment certificate presentation ceremony. The conference was rich in content, with a compact and orderly agenda, received enthusiastic responses on site, and won the enthusiastic participation and widespread praise of the attendees. 

Concurrently with the conference, preparatory work meetings of the CAPE Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Committee and the Remanufacturing Committee, as well as the First Second Member Representative (Expanded) Conference of the Mechanical Transmission Branch, were also held.
