Under the scorching summer sun with sustained high temperatures,

the builders of Beijing Urban Construction Group

remain at their posts, striving hard.

Through the builders' diligent efforts,

three major airport projects—Xiamen New Airport, Hefei Xinqiao International Airport,

and Taiyuan Wusu Airport—

are changing with each passing day, with new progress reported!

Xiamen New Airport Project

Enters Peak Stage of Main Structure Construction

"Race against time, overcome difficulties, and win a comprehensive victory in the 100-day sprint"—at the entrance of the Xiamen New Airport project department, a countdown board stands out prominently. Since June, facing the full-scale construction of the project's north zone, south zone, and transportation center, the Xiamen New Airport project immediately organized resource elements and launched the 100-day sprint; the project has now entered the peak stage of main structure construction.

As an important international airport, regional hub airport, and gateway airport for cross-strait exchanges in China, Xiamen New Airport bears the heavy responsibility of promoting regional development, cross-strait connectivity, and international exchange. The Terminal Area Section III of Xiamen New Airport, constructed by the Group's General Contracting Department, has a building area of 286,600 square meters and is an important project representing the overall image and service quality of Xiamen New Airport.

Since this year's Spring Festival, with the efforts of nearly a thousand construction personnel, the project has carefully organized construction, carried out labor competitions in a timely manner, continuously improved construction efficiency, and made constant new progress. On April 5, pile foundation construction began for the south building of the parking garage, marking the official start of construction in the south zone of the Xiamen New Airport project and laying a solid foundation for the overall advancement of the project; on June 7, the project completed the plus-or-minus zero structural topping-out in the north zone, 10 days ahead of the planned schedule.

At present, more than half of the first above-ground floor structure of the parking garage north building and the passenger overnight accommodation building No. 1 has been completed, with main structure topping-out planned for the end of September; 584 pile foundations have been completed for the south building of the parking garage, accounting for 54%; the basement back-propping and first-floor embedded parts installation of the transportation center have been completed, and 72% of the first-floor columns have been finished. The project team is demonstrating the spirit of Beijing Urban Construction's iron army and state craftsman quality with higher morale, more scientific management, and a more enterprising attitude, making every effort to build Xiamen New Airport into a modern "safe, smart, green, and humanistic" new four-type airport.

Hefei Xinqiao International Airport Project

First Steel Beam of Steel Roof Successfully Hoisted

Cranes roared as taut cables slowly lifted the steel beam, and roof construction workers precisely adjusted the beam's position... In mid-June, the construction site in the central area of the Hefei Xinqiao International Airport T2 Terminal project completed the hoisting of the first steel beam of the steel roof, laying a solid foundation for the project's subsequent construction.

This steel structure roof beam hoisting was located in the middle finger corridor of Zone M of the T2 Terminal. The terminal's steel structure construction is complex, mainly including the main building and finger corridor support columns, roof, floor steel frames, etc. The roof area is approximately 80,000 square meters, and the steel structure construction volume reaches 35,000 tons. After the roof hoisting is completed, it will promote multi-disciplinary interleaved operations in the project and provide working conditions for metal roofing, curtain wall, and other construction.

Located at the northwest end of Hefei City, the Hefei Xinqiao International Airport T2 Terminal is a major construction project designed to meet the rapidly growing demand for aviation business, enhance Hefei Airport's regional aviation hub function, promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, and help Anhui Province build a new highland of openness. The total building area of the project is approximately 369,800 square meters, with construction general contracting undertaken by a consortium of Beijing Urban Construction Group and Anhui Construction Engineering Group. Next, the project will strengthen overall coordination, reasonably allocate resources while ensuring safety and quality, accelerate project progress, strive for concrete main structure topping-out, and organize steel structure installation construction and reserved embedded part construction to advance in parallel.

Taiyuan Wusu Airport Project

Accelerating Advancement

Through the day-and-night efforts of the Group's builders, the Phase III expansion and renovation project of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is progressing steadily. As of mid-June, the project has completed a total of 2,017 pile foundations, and the pipe piles within the utility tunnel scope, gravel piles, and the demonstration for utility tunnel earthwork, support, and dewatering have all been completed.

The Phase III expansion and renovation project of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is a key project of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's 14th Five-Year Plan for airport construction and a benchmark project for Shanxi Province's construction of a strong transportation province. Once completed, it will become an important new aviation engine for Shanxi's future development. The T3 Terminal of the Phase III expansion and renovation project of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is located east of the existing T2 Terminal, with a building area of approximately 400,000 square meters, adopting a three-finger-corridor configuration of "large harbor + three channels." Among them, the terminal core area, constructed by the Group's General Contracting Department, has a building area of 267,000 square meters.

The project has a tight schedule and heavy tasks. Since the start of construction, the project has overcome various difficulties such as the inability to carry out temporary construction due to the cross-impact of dynamic compaction in the terminal area, flight area, and elevated bridge areas, as well as restrictions on access roads, and has actively communicated and coordinated with the command headquarters' terminal area and flight area to carry out partial temporary construction in an interleaved manner. In particular, after driving the first foundation engineering pile on March 21 this year, the project team seized favorable opportunities and, for the first time in airport construction, adopted the alternate-bay construction method, achieving construction wherever there are drawings and working faces and maximizing the input of construction machinery and equipment on site, which won praise from the client. Leaders of the Shanxi Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission praised during an inspection, "Beijing Urban Construction not only constructed the project but also drove the development of local construction enterprises' construction levels."

Currently, the project is taking effective measures to accelerate construction. Hundreds of builders are battling high temperatures and scorching heat, and dozens of pieces of machinery and equipment are roaring day and night to ensure orderly progress of the project. All pipe pile construction is expected to be completed by mid-July.
