The 16th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition & Seminar (hereinafter referred to as "BICES 2023") will be held in Beijing from September 20 to 23. Su Zimeng, President of the China Construction Machinery Association, said at the press conference and exhibitor preparatory meeting that since the 14th Five-Year Plan period began, the industry has overcome multiple adverse effects and continued to achieve new results in high-quality development.

Su Zimeng said that more than two years after the release of the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Construction Machinery Industry," industry enterprises have worked hard to seize development opportunities, proactively responded to risks and challenges, united their efforts, and taken active action, achieving new results in high-quality development. This is mainly reflected in five aspects: the industry as a whole has achieved stable development; industry enterprises have stepped up efforts to expand international markets, with export value growing substantially and the quality of global services further improving; R&D investment has continued to increase, the construction of a high-level R&D system has been accelerated, and scientific and technological innovation has yielded fruitful results; the improvement of industrial basic capabilities and the modernization level of industrial chains has provided strong support for the industry's high-quality development; and notable achievements have been made in high-end, intelligent, and green development.

"From January to May this year, domestic market orders were generally lower than expected, and great attention must be paid to new problems emerging in industry development." Speaking of the operating trends of the construction machinery industry, Su Zimeng predicted that some construction machinery products in the domestic market may still face certain pressure in the near term, but as policies take effect and the market environment steadily improves, the pressure will gradually ease later on. In the long run, the construction machinery industry as a whole will show a stable and positive trend.

Wu Peiguo, Secretary-General of the China Construction Machinery Association, introduced that as of now, more than 1,000 exhibitors have registered to participate, and the total exhibition area is expected to exceed 150,000 square meters. The planned 15 thematic exhibition areas have taken shape, nearly 100 high-quality concurrent conferences and activities have basically been finalized, and the organization of domestic and international users and professional visitors has been fully launched. At that time, about 200 domestic and international news media outlets will carry out all-round, three-dimensional on-site reporting and promotion, and on-site operations and services for exhibitors and visitors will be improved in many aspects.

Wu Peiguo said that the five unique advantages of BICES will be fully leveraged to provide considerate and warm services to exhibitors and visitors.
