On June 13, 2023, the press conference and exhibitor preparatory meeting for the 16th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition & Seminar (BICES 2023) was grandly held in Beijing. The meeting announced that, in addition to the conferences, forums, competitions, and selection events organized by the organizers themselves, relevant units will hold nearly one hundred events during the exhibition. At the press conference, representatives from the Silk Road Center, Zhuozhong Publishing, Lumi Machinery Network, Zhuoyuan Zhilian, HC360 Construction Machinery Network and other organizers of exhibition-related activities introduced their preparations for organizing related activities during BICES 2023 based on their respective resource advantages.

During this year's BICES exhibition, the Silk Road International Capacity Cooperation Promotion Center will once again join hands with the China Construction Machinery Association to carry out the activity of Silk Road Center leading talents visiting BICES.

The Silk Road International Capacity Cooperation Promotion Center is a comprehensive service platform serving international capacity cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Through building four important platforms—an action-oriented think tank, international cooperation and exchange, a talent Whampoa Military Academy, and a collaborative ecosystem of collective cooperation—the Center guides and promotes enterprises to better participate in the Belt and Road construction and seize the development opportunities of international capacity cooperation.
In the process of enterprises going global, it helps enterprises gain a deeper understanding and grasp of the global economy, politics and culture, cultivate international strategic thinking and vision, and forge a group of outstanding entrepreneurs and backbone forces of the new era with great talent and bold vision, international perspective, openness and risk-taking awareness, promoting Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the world.
The Silk Road Leading Talents program relies on the Silk Road International Talent Alliance jointly initiated by more than 50 central enterprises and our Center. It is a talent training program carried out around the Belt and Road development and construction to promote mutual cooperation among enterprises. Targeting problems such as insufficient experience in overseas investment management and risk control capabilities when enterprises go global, it adopts a teaching model of case analysis and mutual visits among enterprises to train senior managers capable of participating in international competition. Since the project was launched, ten sessions have been successfully held, with more than a thousand trainees from enterprises such as China State Construction, China Communications Construction, Zijin, Weiqiao, and LiuGong, covering more than 20 industries including mining development and construction, infrastructure construction, electric power, energy, communications, building materials, metallurgy, and chemicals; they have tens of thousands of overseas branches in 185 countries; they have built 41 overseas parks, including 21 national-level economic and trade parks; and Silk Road leading talents have participated in more than 3,000 overseas cooperation projects.

In 2019, we brought more than a hundred clients who are Silk Road leading talents to BICES, and jointly held with the Association the International Capacity Cooperation Overseas Contracting and Construction Machinery Cooperation Forum. The event gathered more than 200 representatives from well-known upstream and downstream enterprises in engineering contracting and construction machinery and leading enterprises in international capacity cooperation. Focusing on promoting interactive cooperation and collective overseas expansion between China's overseas engineering contracting enterprises and construction machinery manufacturing enterprises, it discussed key topics such as new opportunities for Belt and Road development, new models of collective overseas expansion through cooperation between central and private enterprises, new ideas for overall layout of domestic and overseas markets, new trends in mechanical equipment technology research and development, and new paths for international innovation and collaboration. Although the forum was held for the first time, it received unanimous praise from participating engineering contracting units and construction machinery industry enterprises, laying a solid foundation for our cooperation with the Association again this year.

In recent years, with the continuous development of construction machinery equipment in intelligence, green development and high-end orientation, in order to better serve the Belt and Road construction and further promote and deepen collaboration and connectivity between supply and demand sides in Belt and Road construction projects, the Center and the Association will continue to cooperate during BICES 2023 to hold the second forum. It is currently planned to be held on the afternoon of the third day of the exhibition (September 22). Building on the first forum, it will be comprehensively upgraded in terms of content setting and guest invitations, organizing more trainee enterprises from mining development and engineering contracting to participate in the forum and interact with exhibitors, sharing and displaying cooperation achievements formed in recent years on site, and setting up a cooperation signing session to achieve better results and make the forum a brand event of BICES.
At the same time, we also hope that this forum will receive attention, support and participation from more industry enterprises.
