By the Wuyuer River, accompanied by the roar of machinery, XCMG's large-tonnage horizontal directional drilling rig XZ5060 completed the large-scale crossing construction task of the Wuyuer River for the Qiqihar branch of the China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline project.

The maximum crossing distance of the XCMG XZ5060 horizontal directional drilling rig has been refreshed to 2630m!

This project is the first national-level branch line built by PipeChina (National Petroleum and Natural Gas Pipeline Network Group Co., Ltd.) in Heilongjiang Province, and is an important component of Heilongjiang Province's "Gasifying Longjiang" strategy.

During the pipeline construction, it was necessary to pass through pebble layers, sand layers, etc., with complex geological conditions, high construction difficulty and high risk. The crossing length was 2630m, the main pipe diameter was 508mm, and the optical cable casing was 121mm, with separate-hole pullback. After pebble treatment at both ends, the pilot hole adopted an unconventional docking process in the coarse sand layer, and the entire project was successfully completed in one go.

The XCMG XZ5060 horizontal directional drilling rig is a large-tonnage horizontal directional drilling rig independently developed by XCMG Foundation to meet customer needs. Equipped with a dual power system, either engine can be started to complete all the rig's actions. Combined with proprietary multi-condition speed regulation technology and multi-gear control technology for rotation and push-pull, the rig has a wide range of applications. In the case of small-diameter construction, a single engine can be used, resulting in low fuel consumption and low construction costs.

In addition, as a modular combined split-type drilling rig, the XCMG XZ5060 horizontal directional drilling rig adopts multiple advanced control technologies such as electro-hydraulic proportional control and load-sensing control, along with the company's proprietary technologies. Its main performance parameters and control technologies have reached the international leading level. The customer once again strengthened their confidence in cooperating with XCMG regarding the equipment.

In the China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline project, XCMG equipment has participated in almost all crossing projects. In the Shuanglong River crossing project in Caofeidian, Tangshan, Hebei, the world's largest-tonnage horizontal directional drilling rig, XCMG XZ13600, completed the crossing of the largest-diameter 1422mm pipeline in China; in the Yellow River crossing project, the XCMG XZ6600 horizontal directional drilling rig, together with the XZ11000 horizontal directional drilling rig, took only more than 120 days to overcome a large-scale crossing project with a crossing length of 1172.7m and a pipeline diameter of 1219mm, setting a new record for the fastest completion of a crossing project on the China-Russia East Route.
