Foundation works of Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge piers completed

On June 12, the pier foundation works of the Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge, organized and constructed by Chongqing City Investment and Construction Company, successfully passed the contract completion acceptance, marking the smooth completion of the project two months ahead of the contract schedule.

The foundation works of the Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge commenced on December 22, 2021. Facing numerous difficulties such as the short construction window imposed by Yangtze River water levels and the inability to carry out continuous operations at night, Chongqing City Investment and Construction Company, together with the contractor CCCC Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. and other participating parties, planned ahead. In particular, to ensure the construction quality of the pile foundations and mass concrete for the pile caps, all participating units, based on actual site conditions, organized expert demonstrations, optimized the pouring scheme, and increased resource input, ultimately ensuring the smooth completion of concrete pouring for the foundation structure. At the same time, the trestle bridges and cofferdams on both banks were completed within a short period, ensuring the safe and smooth completion of the entire project.

The Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge is a section of the Eighth Horizontal Expressway in the main urban area road network plan of Chongqing, with a total length of approximately 3 km (including a 2.38 km co-built rail section). Upon completion, it will effectively meet the travel needs between Nanping and Jiulong Peninsula, become an important supporting evacuation corridor for Chongqing East Railway Station, and serve as a key east-west corridor in the "five vertical and six horizontal" road network of the East Railway Station area. The completion of the foundation works has laid a solid foundation for the construction of the entire bridge.
