Recently, at the Housi River Grand Bridge section of the Zhengzhou-Luoyang Expressway construction project, two SANY rotary drilling rigs have been running at full power, operating nearly 23 hours a day. With the equipment never shutting down and operators working in two shifts, the smooth completion of the pile foundation for the Housi River Grand Bridge was ensured.

The Zhengzhou-Luoyang Expressway, abbreviated as the "Zheng-Luo Expressway," is a newly added expressway construction project in the Henan Province Expressway Network Plan (2021-2035) and is one of the radiation routes of the Zhengzhou metropolitan area.

The project route has a total length of 99.215 kilometers. The entire line includes 1 grand bridge, 55 major bridges, 13 medium bridges, and 68 culverts; 7 tunnels are provided; the bridge-to-tunnel ratio is approximately 29.06%.

The Housi River Grand Bridge is a single-tower, double-cable-plane prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge designed with separate carriageways. The bridge adopts a tower-girder-pier rigid connection system; the main girder is a ribbed-slab concrete main girder, and the stay cables are parallel steel wire finished cables; the cable tower is a reinforced concrete "A"-shaped tower, with the left carriageway tower 207.5 m high and the right carriageway tower 211 m high; the foundation uses bored cast-in-place piles, with 30 rock-socketed piles of 2.0 m diameter arranged under the cable tower, each 25 m long. The full width of a single carriageway deck is 19.5 m, and the girder height is 2.4 m; at the bridge-tunnel junction, the guardrails gradually narrow inward.

The landform unit of the bridge site area is in a medium-relief mid-low mountain landform, and the micro-landform is a river valley landform, with large terrain undulations and steep rock walls on both sides of the river valley. The construction section consists of silty clay and gravelly soil, with limestone below. The pile diameter is 2 meters and the pile depth is 25 meters, making construction relatively difficult.
