At 10:06 a.m. on June 6, as the massive cutterhead of the "Quanxin" shield machine slowly began to rotate, it marked the smooth launch of the shield machine for the section from Tianluo Road Station to Software Park Station on Jinan Metro Line 6, which is generally contracted by China Railway Shangtou and constructed by the Urban Rail Company of China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group.

The section from Tianluo Road Station to Software Park Station on Jinan Metro Line 6 is 1.1 km long and mainly passes through moderately weathered limestone and karst cave development strata, with an average rock strength of up to 87 MPa. In response to the long-distance, high-strength, full-face limestone strata in this project section, the construction unit China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and Jinan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. jointly developed and manufactured Jinan's first EPB/TBM dual-mode shield machine, the "Quanxin." It features an innovative design with a high-power, high-performance main drive that can meet both the high-torque requirements of EPB mode and the high-speed requirements of TBM mode. It is also equipped with multiple key technologies, including a dust removal design for TBM excavation mode and a high-load wear-resistant design for the screw conveyor. It can quickly switch between EPB and TBM modes according to geological conditions and features strong stratum adaptability, high safety, and fast excavation speed.

It is reported that the smooth launch of the "Quanxin" shield machine marks the first application of a dual-mode shield machine in Jinan rail transit construction, marking another new technical breakthrough in shield construction on Jinan Metro Line 6 and indicating that the project has entered a stage of efficient advancement in shield construction.
