On June 5, as the massive cutterhead of the "Kunlun No. 45" TBM broke through the wall, the right-line TBM tunnel of the Longxi Station–Min'an Avenue Station section of the western extension of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 4 was successfully completed. This is the first TBM section to be completed on the entire line.

The Longxi Station–Min'an Avenue Station TBM section has a total length of 2,360.9 meters. Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group's rail group, together with the participating construction units, tailored the composite earth pressure balance TBM "Kunlun No. 45" for it, featuring high strength, efficient rock breaking, and strong wear resistance, and it was launched on June 30, 2022.

After more than 300 days of intensive work, the equipment, with its good geological adaptability, successfully passed beneath key buildings and structures such as residential areas, urban interchanges, and commercial buildings, passed alongside the existing Rail Transit Line 3, and on January 7, 2023, successfully bored through the under-construction Jiazhou Road Station using the "tunnel first, station later" construction method, finally being received at the large-mileage ventilation shaft of Longxi Station.

A person in charge of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group's rail group introduced that the western extension of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 4 starts from Pangui Road Station in the west and ends at Min'an Avenue Station of Phase I of Line 4 in the east. Once completed, it will operate through with Phase I and Phase II of Line 4, connecting important areas such as the Dashiba cluster, Guanyinqiao cluster, Chongqing North Railway Station, Tangjiatuo cluster, and Longxing cluster, further densifying the rail transit network in the central urban area and facilitating travel for the general public.
