On May 29, with the sound of an explosion, the left tube excavation of the Jinyang Tunnel exit section on the SG2 bid of the Xizhao Expressway broke through the 2,000-meter mark, marking another new stage in the construction of the Jinyang Tunnel exit and officially bringing both the left and right tubes of the exit into the "2,000-meter era," laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of subsequent tunnel works.

The exit section of the Jinyang Tunnel is located within Jijue Township and Xiaoyinmu Township, Jinyang County, Liangshan Prefecture. The left tube has a total length of 5,854 meters and the right tube 5,864 meters, with surrounding rock predominantly of Grade IV and Grade V. The tunnel geology is complex, crossing multiple fault fracture zones and featuring high-risk adverse geological conditions such as rockfalls, mud and water inrushes, large deformation of soft rock, and karst, entailing great construction difficulty, high technical requirements, high safety risk factors, and difficult construction control.

In the face of difficulties such as complex geology and numerous constraining factors during tunnel construction, the project has consistently adhered to high-standard, high-quality refined management requirements throughout the construction process; it has persisted in the principle of "explore before excavating," determining construction plans based on multi-dimensional data including advanced geological forecasting and monitoring measurement, advanced geological drilling, and identification and assessment of surrounding rock, so as to ensure the intrinsic safety of project construction and strive to create a demonstration project for safety and quality informatization and standardization.

The breakthrough of both tubes of the Jinyang Tunnel exit section past 2,000 meters has greatly boosted the morale of the project participants and also laid a solid foundation for the early completion and opening of this rural revitalization road.
