Haihe Flood Control Sluice Reinforcement Project

On May 31, the installation and commissioning of the 8-bay upper and lower flap gates and 16 hoists of the Haihe Flood Control Sluice Reinforcement Project were completed, marking that the main structure of the sluice has met emergency water-passing conditions before the 2023 flood season.

The Haihe Flood Control Sluice Reinforcement Project is one of the 150 major water conservancy projects designated by the State Council. Its main tasks are to demolish and rebuild structures such as the sluice chamber and bank wing walls at the original sluice site, reinforce and repair the upstream and downstream connecting section structures, and renew metal structures and electromechanical equipment. The total investment of the project is 427 million yuan, the design tide-control standard is a 200-year return period, and the design drainage flow is 1,000 cubic meters per second.

After the project is completed, it can eliminate safety hazards of the sluice, meet the requirements for safe flood control and tide-control operation and comprehensive utilization of the Haihe River main stream, further improve the flood control and tide-control engineering system of the Haihe River Basin and Tianjin city, and provide solid water security support for the high-quality economic and social development of Tianjin's central urban area and Binhai New Area.

Huangzang Temple Water Conservancy Hub Project

Recently, as the pouring of dam section Nos. 7-9 of the Huangzang Temple Water Conservancy Hub Project reached elevation 2615 meters and the placement was closed, the main dam body has reached a height of 100 meters, with only 16 meters remaining until all dam pouring is completed, laying a solid foundation for achieving the annual goal of dam capping.

The Huangzang Temple Water Conservancy Hub Project in Qinghai is an important water resource allocation project and ecological protection project in the Heihe River Basin. On September 16, 2019, roller-compacted concrete pouring for the dam began. Over the past four years, the EPC project department of the Huangzang Temple Project has carried forward the spirit of fearing no hardship and daring to strive, overcome difficulties such as severe cold, high altitude, large temperature differences between day and night, and a short effective construction period, organized scientifically, planned systematically, strengthened quality supervision, strictly controlled safety, and continuously proposed new methods and new processes in project construction, solving a number of construction difficulties.

Wusong River Project (Shanghai Section) Xinchuan Shahe Pumping Sluice Hub Project

Recently, the Xinchuan Shahe Pumping Sluice Hub Project of the Wusong River Project (Shanghai Section) successfully passed the water-passing stage acceptance and has initially met water-passing conditions.

The Wusong River Project is one of the 55 major water conservancy projects clearly designated by the State Council Executive Meeting for key advancement in 2022. As an important river entrance and control project of the Wusong River Project (Shanghai Section), the Xinchuan Shahe Pumping Sluice Hub Project is one of the sections with the highest construction requirements, greatest difficulty, tightest construction period, and most complex surrounding environment in the Wusong River Project (Shanghai Section), and is also the largest pumping sluice hub project in the history of water conservancy construction in Shanghai.

The main construction content of the Xinchuan Shahe Pumping Sluice Hub Project of the Wusong River Project (Shanghai Section) includes the construction of one new Xinchuan Shahe Pumping Sluice Hub (a 150 cubic meter per second bidirectional diversion and drainage pumping station and a regulating sluice with a total clear width of 60 meters) and its ancillary supporting projects, as well as river channel regulation works in the section upstream of the sluice. The project officially started on November 22, 2020. On December 25, 2021, the 4,500-cubic-meter mass concrete pouring of the pumping station base slab was completed, and on November 13, 2022, the 6,250-cubic-meter concrete pouring of the sluice base slab was completed ahead of schedule, setting new records twice for the largest single base slab pouring in the history of Shanghai water conservancy construction.

Phase II of the Daqiao Reservoir Irrigation District

On May 29, as the last section of earthwork excavation was completed, the Yingpanshan Tunnel of Phase II of the Daqiao Reservoir Irrigation District achieved breakthrough. The Yingpanshan Tunnel is about 3.1 kilometers long, and the two-way excavation from the inlet and outlet greatly shortened the construction period.

At present, Phase II of the Daqiao Reservoir Irrigation District is in a critical construction period, and the project will build 179 kilometers of canals. After completion in 2025, the average annual water supply can reach 250 million cubic meters, adding and improving 460,000 mu of irrigated area and serving a water supply population of 350,000. By then, Sichuan Province will have an additional irrigation district at the one-million-mu level, benefiting the three counties and cities of Xichang, Dechang, and Mianning in Liangshan Prefecture.
