From May 29 to 31, 2023, the 13th Large-Diameter Engineering Well (Pile) Technology Summit was held in Ningbo. With the theme of "Green, Intelligent and High-Quality Development," industry experts gathered together to discuss the current state of the industry, share development achievements, and commit to jointly promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the industry.

The conference was jointly hosted by the International Large-Diameter Engineering Well (Pile) Association, the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, Ningbo University of Technology, and the Transportation Equipment Branch of the China Highway and Transportation Society. Yutong Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd. actively co-organized the event and delivered a dedicated presentation on "Innovative Application of Electric Rotary Drilling Rigs in the Pile Foundation Field."

Ms. Li Limin, Dean of the Yutong Heavy Equipment Technology Research Institute, stated clearly at the conference: "Yutong Heavy Equipment will unswervingly pursue the path of electrification."

As early as 1997, Yutong had already begun research and development of new energy technologies. After nearly 30 years of development, Yutong has continued to tackle key technical challenges and has now fully mastered core new energy technologies. Leveraging the strong new energy technology accumulation of the Yutong Group, Yutong Heavy Equipment launched the world's first motor-direct-drive pure electric rotary drilling rig in 2020 and the first extended-range electric rotary drilling rig in 2021. Today, it has developed comprehensive advantages spanning from market to R&D, from material selection to manufacturing, and from quality control to service.

Driven by both national policies and market demand, the electrification of construction machinery has become an inevitable path. First, in the context of achieving the "dual carbon" goals and building a new dual-circulation development pattern, electrification has become one of the important directions for green development. Second, compared with fuel-powered construction machinery, electric construction machinery offers clear economic advantages. Taking Yutong's electric rotary drilling rig as an example, it achieves energy savings of up to 70%-80% in pure electric mode and 40%-50% in extended-range mode, resulting in lower overall costs.

At present, Yutong's electric rotary drilling rigs cover nearly 10 models ranging from 166 to 506, covering more than 80% of rotary drilling rig working conditions. Having withstood extreme conditions such as severe cold, extreme heat, high humidity, and hard rock, they have been recognized by customers for their economy and reliability.

Amid the wave of low-carbon emission requirements and the vigorous development of new energy technologies, the new energy construction machinery industry is embracing major opportunities presented by a new era.
