On March 28, the "2023 Construction Machinery Product Development (Beijing) Forum and China Construction Machinery Annual Product TOP50 Awards Ceremony," guided by the National Construction Machinery Quality Inspection and Testing Center and initiated and hosted by the magazine Construction Machinery & Maintenance, was held as scheduled.

Two engines are mounted on both sides of the turntable in the form of power packs, and a transition frame is installed between the chassis and the tracks, which can meet the construction needs of 7.5 m super-large-diameter pile foundations. When performing small-diameter drilling operations, the middle transition frame can be replaced to achieve construction under multiple working conditions, making one machine multi-purpose.

The transition frame is connected by pins and features automatic disassembly. Its transport dimensions and weight do not exceed limits, which can save a great deal of manpower and the rental cost of large-tonnage cranes. It can also easily enter many mountainous areas and even steep, high-altitude construction sites for pile foundation work, satisfying both the construction stability required for super-large-diameter holes and transport convenience.

In addition, the XR1600E is the first rotary drilling rig in the industry to use a dual-system power pack. The two engines can work together or operate independently, providing abundant power.

Although it is the world's largest-tonnage rig, the XR1600E rotary drilling rig is large but not clumsy. The entire machine adopts a fully electronically controlled system for intelligent and precise control of each actuator, enabling on-demand flow distribution, avoiding the waste of using a big machine for a small job, and allowing remote control of the machine's operation and work through 5G technology.
