Under clear skies in Guangzhou, XCMG rotary drilling rigs stand with their golden masts, boring into the ground like spears in hand.

At the construction site of the Phase II project of GWM Technology's headquarters and production base, dozens of XCMG rotary drilling rigs, including the XR360, XR360E, XR400D and XRS1050, have been deployed to help the Greater Bay Area add another green energy storage base!

GWM Technology is the first mixed-ownership reform enterprise incubated by GAC Group, focusing on the R&D and production of XFC ultra-fast battery cells, new energy storage devices and related integrated systems. It is a key construction project at both the Guangzhou municipal and Nansha district levels. The project is expected to go into production in the third quarter of 2023, with an annual output value of RMB 7.2 billion after production begins.
The project's piles range from 0.8 m to 1.6 m in diameter and 18 m to 46 m in depth. The strata at the site are mainly mudstone and granite, which are hard and difficult to drill.

The XCMG XR360, XR360E and XR400D rotary drilling rigs involved in the project are known in the industry as experts in hard-rock piling.

The XCMG XR360 series and XR400D rotary drilling rigs offer powerful performance, with maximum drilling depths of 102 m and 109 m respectively. Both models are equipped with dual-mode rotary heads for normal and rock drilling, enabling construction in soil and rock strata respectively and improving operational efficiency. The XRS1050 adopts a large triangular boom design for stronger rock-breaking capability and is suitable for deep-pile construction in hard rock.

At the project site, 10 XCMG rotary drilling rigs maintain an extremely high construction speed of three piles per machine per day on average, with a one-time hole-forming rate of over 95%.

According to the project site, compared with other brands of rotary drilling rigs working on site, these 10 large-tonnage XCMG rotary drilling rigs can complete on average half a pile more per machine per day, putting the project schedule in the fast lane.
