Recently, in Yanchi County, Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on the Loess Plateau where snow has not yet melted, construction of the Yanchi area photovoltaic project of the No. 5 Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield began as workers from China Railway 14th Bureau Group drove the first photovoltaic helical pile.

The Yanchi area photovoltaic project of the No. 5 Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield mainly uses oilfield land and the roofs of support points to build distributed photovoltaics, with a total installed capacity of 9.5 MW. The first phase, in which the Electrical Engineering Company of the 14th Bureau Group participates, covers about 30 oil well areas.
Ningxia is rich in solar energy resources and is one of China's high-energy solar radiation zones, with high altitude, few cloudy and rainy days, long sunshine duration, high radiation intensity and good atmospheric transparency. The project uses the oil area's abundant photovoltaic resources to turn the natural disadvantages of high altitude, strong sunlight and frequent sandstorms into advantages for developing new energy such as photovoltaic power generation, setting a model for the green development of the oilfield. After completion, the project will generate about 14.75 million kWh of electricity per year, save 4,500 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8,600 tons, generating substantial economic benefits for the oilfield, actively and steadily advancing carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and accelerating local green and low-carbon development.

In recent years, China Railway 14th Bureau Group has actively promoted transformation and upgrading, vigorously built emerging industries, and made new energy an important part of its "ten major industrial chains" layout. The Beijing Fangqiao photovoltaic project it built generates nearly 2,000 kWh per day, fully meeting the production and living needs of the industrial park; it is also the first project implemented after the cooperation between China Railway Construction Corporation and the South-to-North Water Diversion. On the grasslands of Urad Middle Banner in Inner Mongolia, the 100 MW wind power project of United Power Derisu Phase II in which the company participates has put 19 power wind turbines more than 100 meters tall into operation, each equipped with a 5.3 MW wind turbine generator set, generating an average of 30,000 kWh per day.
