On February 14, the reporter learned from CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. that all pile foundations for the south bank main pier of the Songzi River Grand Bridge on the Dangzhisong Expressway, constructed by the company, have been fully poured.

The Dangzhisong Expressway is a key expressway project in the "14th Five-Year Plan" for Comprehensive Transportation Development of Hubei Province. The route has a total length of 75 kilometers, of which Section 5, undertaken by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., is 10.708 kilometers long and crosses the Songzi River. The construction scope includes 4 grand bridges, 1 major bridge, 1 interchange, 1 parking area, and 5.8 kilometers of subgrade. Among them, the Songzi River Grand Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 555 meters and is a key controlling project of the entire line.

The pile foundations for the south bank main pier of the Songzi River Grand Bridge consist of 32 bored cast-in-place piles, each 75 meters long. The geological conditions are complex, making drilling difficult and posing a high risk of hole collapse. To solve this problem and meet design and specification requirements, the project technical team conducted repeated discussions and tests and decided to adopt a staged hole-forming process while controlling the drilling speed in the pebble layer, effectively ensuring the hole-forming quality and verticality during pile foundation construction. At the same time, in order to seize the golden construction period and the dry season, the project established an on-site construction technical research and collaboration group and set up the "Songzi River Grand Bridge Party Member Assault Pioneer Team" to ensure the smooth progress of winter construction. During this year's Spring Festival, more than 100 builders from the project department stayed at the bridge construction site, ensuring that work and production at the main pier did not stop, providing strong support for the high-quality completion of the pile foundation construction task.

It is reported that after the Dangzhisong Expressway is completed, it will strongly promote the development of the "Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen-Enshi" urban agglomeration from point to area, from lines to contiguous zones, and in a fan-shaped pattern, and is of great significance for improving the multimodal transport system of the Three Gorges hub.
