Stationed overseas for nearly 2 consecutive years, he became a father on the phone

In October 2020, Ruan Dong packed his bags and flew to his post in Indonesia. What was originally a six-month service assignment turned into 514 days.

During the Spring Festival that had just passed, his 8-year-old daughter drew a picture for Ruan Dong and shyly showed it to him over video. On the drawing were the words: "Dad, you are the biggest hero in my heart!"

"Overcome difficulties and take proactive action." This is the motto Ruan Dong uses to motivate himself. During the most severe days of the pandemic, Ruan Dong overcame numerous difficulties and insisted on inspecting and maintaining every loader according to plan, giving customers his full dedication. The care of his family and the company became an important source of strength for his perseverance and commitment.

Responsible for the maintenance of hundreds of machines, he became a star at the mine

At a large mine in Indonesia, nearly 600 XCMG loaders are stationed. Looking out, the golden XCMG fleet swings its steel arms and shuttles back and forth, an extremely impressive sight.

To ensure that the equipment can operate continuously for extended periods with high performance in the local humid and hot climate, Ruan Dong always arrives first at the site before dawn to carry out preventive maintenance.

Service support is a rigorous system, and every link—from fault handling to spare parts support to training implementation—is indispensable.

After completing the day's maintenance tasks, Ruan Dong takes inventory of spare parts and other materials and accurately submits spare parts demand plans, striving for precise and rational spare parts reserves.

Ruan Dong is like a tireless robot, moving ceaselessly through the mine from morning to night, always appearing the moment his coworkers need him, and has become the most popular "star" at the mine. Ruan Dong also ensured project progress with "zero downtime" and won high recognition from customers.

Teaching skills by passing on the method, he became a teacher in the work shed

Shuttling among the machines every day, Ruan Dong still firmly seizes every online training and learning session, never missing one in several years.

At work, he always seizes every opportunity for hands-on practice; during breaks, he races against time to learn product knowledge and maintenance skills, and passes them on unreservedly to colleagues and operators.

Gradually, Ruan Dong has become a highly respected teacher on local projects.

Reducing equipment damage—prevention is most important. Ruan Dong regularly organizes training for local operators and maintenance personnel, explaining in detail how to identify and troubleshoot common faults as well as on-machine operation, so that maintenance personnel become familiar with and master more maintenance knowledge. After each training session, the operators are still eager for more and pull Ruan Dong aside to ask questions, and he always answers patiently.
