On October 25, the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Association") held a press conference and media symposium in Beijing, officially announcing the "Glorious Decade — Construction Machinery Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference (Beijing)" and the "China Construction Machinery Industry High-Quality Development Forum," to be held from December 1 to 3, 2022, at the Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center, the venue for the Beijing Winter Olympics big air skiing event.

At the meeting, President Su Zimeng stated that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was a very important congress held at a critical moment when the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China were embarking on a new journey to build a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing toward the Second Centenary Goal. The report of the 20th National Congress reviewed and summarized the work of the past five years and the great changes of the new era over the past decade, and formulated major policies and made comprehensive arrangements for the development of the cause of the Party and the country in the next five years and beyond. It is a political declaration and program of action for the Party to unite and lead the people of all ethnic groups in China to win new victories in socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and will surely play a very important guiding and guaranteeing role in building a modern socialist country in all respects, comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and winning new victories in socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The vast number of Party members, cadres, and employees in our construction machinery industry are greatly encouraged and proud of the brilliant achievements made in various undertakings of the Party and the country. We must take the study, publicity, and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as the primary political task at present and for some time to come, unify our thoughts and actions with the spirit of the 20th National Congress, hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments," unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, fully implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carry forward the great founding spirit of the Party, be confident and self-reliant, uphold integrity and innovate, forge ahead with determination and perseverance, and strive in unity to build a modern socialist country in all respects and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Su Zimeng pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, tremendous changes have taken place in China's construction machinery industry: the industrial scale has become more reasonable, the international status has been significantly improved, independent innovation has yielded fruitful results, the industrial structure has been further optimized, the capacity for sustainable development has been significantly enhanced, and new achievements in high-quality development have been continuously made. These achievements have not come easily and have attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society. The Association has decided to hold the "Glorious Decade — Construction Machinery Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference" and the "China Construction Machinery Industry High-Quality Development Forum" in Beijing, aiming to conduct a systematic and comprehensive summary of the industry's development over the glorious decade and an in-depth discussion and outlook on future development through the concentrated display of advanced technologies and products, outstanding enterprises, and demonstration projects, and through extensive exchanges among upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, users, experts, and scholars, thereby pooling strength, boosting confidence, and advancing the new journey and contributing to the new era with a more spirited and enterprising attitude.

Su Zimeng emphasized that the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stated: "Build a modern industrial system, keep the focus of economic development on the real economy, advance new industrialization, and accelerate the building of a manufacturing powerhouse, a quality powerhouse, a space powerhouse, a transportation powerhouse, a cyber powerhouse, and a digital China." It highlighted that science and technology are the primary productive forces, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. We must accurately understand, systematically grasp, and fully implement this. First, we must persevere in promoting innovative development of the construction machinery industry. We will continue to fight the tough battles of upgrading the industrial base and modernizing the industrial chain. We will strive to achieve new breakthroughs in digitalization, intelligence, and informatization. Second, we must strengthen and extend the chain to achieve coordinated development of the construction machinery industry. We will focus on building a high-level industrial chain and supply chain system and accelerate the integrated development of complete machine, component, and raw material enterprises. Third, we must be proactive in achieving green development of the construction machinery industry. We will accelerate the progress of new energy construction machinery, build an independent and controllable new energy construction machinery industrial chain, and actively and steadily complete the switchover and implementation of the Stage IV emission standards for non-road construction machinery. Fourth, we must improve quality and efficiency to promote open development of the construction machinery industry. We will further expand international market space and areas of international cooperation, continuously enhance the resilience of China's stable growth in construction machinery exports, and expand high-level opening up. Fifth, we must go all out to promote shared development of the construction machinery industry. We will accelerate the transformation of industrial growth drivers and collaborative cooperation among upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and among large, medium, and small enterprises for mutual benefit and win-win results. We believe that through this event, the charm of construction machinery development will surely be demonstrated, and taking this as an opportunity, we will continue to pioneer and innovate, unite and strive, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of the construction machinery industry.

Secretary-General Wu Peiguo emphasized that the "Glorious Decade — Construction Machinery Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference (Beijing)" and the "China Construction Machinery Industry High-Quality Development Forum" were decided to be held at a time when the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China had been successfully convened and all sectors of the country were enthusiastically studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress. They are of important and far-reaching significance for further promoting the high-quality development of the construction machinery industry. They also respond to the fact that no national professional construction machinery exhibitions have been held in the past two years and large-scale industry exchange and display activities have almost stopped, meeting the industry enterprises' demand for national brand promotion, technology and product display, and industry exchange activities this year.

Wu Peiguo introduced the preparations. In terms of exhibition area planning, areas have been set up to reflect the historic achievements of the past decade, including major technical equipment and high-end construction machinery, intelligent construction machinery, new energy construction machinery, key supporting components, industrial chain service platforms, and new technologies, new products, new construction methods, and new service solutions. In terms of exhibitor organization, positive responses were received when soliciting opinions from key industry enterprises in the earlier stage, and the next step will be to carry out targeted exhibitor organization work according to the exhibition area plan. In terms of visitor organization, the Association will widely invite professional visitors from energy, construction, transportation, municipal administration, mining, leasing, construction, engineering contracting units, machine operators, and other fields to visit and exchange on site, and will also invite relevant government departments and relevant people from all sectors of society to visit, guide, and experience the industry's development achievements. In terms of concurrent activities, conferences, and selection and commendation arrangements, the Association will organize a series of forums on high-quality development of the China construction machinery industry, such as special conferences and forums on construction machinery "dual carbon" development, implementation of non-road Stage IV standards (the event day is the switchover day for non-road China IV standards), user equipment procurement, construction technology, and typical engineering exchanges. During the period, in order to review and summarize the industry's arduous and enterprising development process over the past decade and encourage industry enterprises to be more energetic on the new journey of the new era, this event will carry out a series of "Glorious Decade" construction machinery industry selection activities and commendations. The notice for the selection activities will be officially released in the near future.

Wu Peiguo also gave a special introduction to the Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center, pointing out that Beijing, as the world's first "Dual Olympic City," has the Winter Olympics big air venue located in Shougang Park on the western extension of Chang'an Avenue. The Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the Shougang Park Industrial Heritage Park, with complete facilities, convenient transportation, and full food and accommodation services. It is the first large-scale comprehensive, garden-style, and professional convention and exhibition venue in western Beijing, and is also one of the main venues of the China International Fair for Trade in Services. It has hosted large-scale exhibitions and important activities many times, and its exhibition conditions are mature, which will provide strong support for the event.

Wu Peiguo stated that the China Construction Machinery Association, as the organizer, will work together with the event co-organizers Tianshi Huagong International Exhibition Company and Xiehui Linghang Advertising Media Company, and coordinate with venue, transportation, security, catering, hotel, and other service providers to actively make preparations. He believes that they will surely provide thoughtful and satisfactory services to exhibitors and visitors and make the "Glorious Decade — Construction Machinery Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference (Beijing)" and the "China Construction Machinery Industry High-Quality Development Forum" high-quality and high-level events.

Honorary President and Special Advisor Qi Jun introduced the industry's participation in the Machinery Industry Awards and pointed out that the industry's achievements in scientific and technological innovation over the past decade and the economic results achieved through scientific and technological innovation will be fully displayed.

Vice President Li Jianyou stated that over the past decade, the industry has seen the emergence of a number of technologically leading products and specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative "little giant" enterprises, achieving remarkable and notable results. In order to better embark on a new journey, we need to summarize achievements and exchange experience through the "Glorious Decade — Construction Machinery Exhibition and Technical Exchange Conference (Beijing)" and the "China Construction Machinery Industry High-Quality Development Forum," thereby boosting confidence, pooling wisdom and strength to seek development together, and contributing to promoting the internationalization, greening, digitalization, and intelligent development of construction machinery.
