Recently, it was learned from the Project Department of Bid Section 10 of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway under China Railway 12th Bureau Group that since construction began in May last year, all works on the Wulong Zhongxing Tunnel of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway on the Chongqing-Xiangxi High-Speed Railway have progressed smoothly, with 1,800 meters of excavation now completed on the main tunnel.

During construction, the project team introduced a 36m fully hydraulic integral arc-formwork trestle bridge. The trestle's effective construction length reaches 36m, equivalent to three working faces, allowing simultaneous operations for initial support of the invert, the invert, and invert filling, greatly improving invert construction efficiency.

According to reports, construction of the Wulong Zhongxing Tunnel on the Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Xiangxi High-Speed Railway began in May last year, and excavation of the main tunnel started in late August last year. During construction, the contractor promoted and adopted equipment and technologies including borehole imaging, the 36m fully hydraulic integral arc-formwork trestle bridge, intelligent trolleys, and spray curing in response to site conditions, and standardized equipment and process standards. This not only effectively prevented safety risks but also improved construction efficiency and ensured project quality. The Zhongxing Tunnel has now completed 1,800 meters of excavation, and the project is progressing smoothly. Next, the construction philosophy of ensuring processes through equipment and ensuring quality through processes will continue to be upheld, advanced equipment will be introduced, cutting-edge processes and methods will be selected, and construction efficiency and quality will be improved to ensure controllable progress and quality standards.

It is understood that the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway on the Chongqing-Xiangxi High-Speed Railway is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It starts at Chongqing Station, passes through Banan, Nanchuan, Wulong, and Pengshui, and ends at Qianjiang, with a main line length of 265 kilometers. The Wulong section is about 63.8 kilometers long, accounting for 25% of the entire Chongqing-Qianjiang section. The Chongqing-Xiangxi High-Speed Railway is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025. After the entire line is completed, the high-speed rail journey from central Chongqing to Qianjiang will take less than one hour. This will not only fill the gap of no high-speed rail in Chongqing's southeastern area, but also have positive significance for further improving Chongqing's high-speed railway network layout, promoting the transformation of tourism resources along the line into economic resources, and enhancing Chongqing's radiating and driving role for surrounding areas.
